Vitreus Art, at Bell Plantation has a lovely gallery and on line shop that support local artists. They also run a wide range of courses including painting, jewellery making, stained and fused glass. It is a fabulous place to learn a new skill or improve existing skills, but be warned it can be addictive! Jenny and Mike are very welcoming and so knowledgeable. They adapt their teaching methods to the skills / knowledge of the attendees and always make the classes fun! Over the last 9 months I have attended a number of different courses with Jenny & Mike making a variety of fused glass items including Christmas Decorations, a Wave and a Lantern. I am now confident in my skills to attend Project Days to work on my own ideas. It is just a lovely place / atmosphere where you can while away a few hours or a day and you always get to take home your finished pieces. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

Vitreus Art is a wonderful place to visit, whether to browse the many pieces of artwork by local artists being sold, or to attend one of Jenny & Mike’s numerous workshops. There is a huge variety of glass classes to attend – and I am very lucky to say that I’ve been able to attend many and returned home each time with some beautiful self-made pieces. Glass fusion, slumping, bubble bowls, flowers, lamps & lanterns, tea lights, christmas decorations, copper foiling or glass leading, kiln carving or screen printing – there is sure to be something to whet the appetite of everyone. Jenny and Mike are amazing subject matter experts, making the classes fun and interactive; always willing to help, show and support you during your time there. The studio is spacious and well equipped – plus the added bonus of copious amounts of tea, coffee, biscuits and cake to keep you going. I would thoroughly recommend Jenny, Mike and Vitreus Art whether you are looking to buy a one-off piece of artwork or to make your own.

This not just an amazing gallery full of lots of diverse and interesting art, whether its glass work, paintings, sculpture or photography there is plenty to interest everyone. Jenny and Mike also run some exciting workshops so whether you want to try your hand at stained glass or candkemaking, glass fushion, painting and drawing and precious metal clay jewellery you will find plenty to inspire you. Jenny and Mike are great teachers so even if you are a beginner you will be amazed at what you can achieve. I have done many classes over the past few years with Jenny and Mike. They are wonderful teachers and can take you from being a complete novice to being able to do your own project days in many different crafts. I have some beautiful pieces that I've created including two Tiffany style lamps, a pebble bowl and several garden ornaments and window light catchers. Jenny and Mike are so knowledgeable and are very patient. They have built a lovely workspace for students to work in and everything is provided including tea and biscuits. The gallery space is also amazing and there are some wonderful pieces of art on display. I highly recommend the classes but also if you need a nice present for someone or even yourself then check out what is on offer. Thank you Jenny and Mike for providing a little piece of crafting and art heaven.

Had a wonderful day with Jenny and Mike. The guidance and teaching elements were detailed enough without it being too much information. The studio is a Covid secure and calm environment and a delicious lunch and constant refreshments were provided as part of the course. Came away with some beautiful pieces of jewellery.Thank you for making me feel to welcome.

I asked VA to make a bespoke leaded gass panel to fill an odd shaped gap between a 17C beam and the ceiling above. After a few meetings and trial drawings, I decided on the final design and yesterday it was fitted. What a beautiful piece of art it is. Constructed of odd-shaped pieces of intense colour glass it is like a small version of an ancient church window - just a perfect job!!
