Previously I ordered off via ebay and all ok. Second time around, I ordered direct through the website and nothing was sent/delivered and they didn't respond to emails (no phone number available). Opened a case with paypal which resulted in a refund after 5 weeks. The company is clearly struggling. I note the website is not secure either.

We wont be using this Viridis Hortus again. We purchased a large batch of seeds back in late December 2019 / early January 2020 and we have had very poor germination rates. For example, from a batch of over 100 broad beans we had only 3 successful germination. Our left over broad beans from last year, from another supplier, in the same conditions had almost a 100% germination rate. We have seen similar outcomes with other seeds purchased from this website such as parsnips, leeks etc. When the COVID-19 pandemic started to gain momentum, we did not at this point realise the poor quality of the seeds, we decided to order some additional seeds for my parents who had to shield. The nicely packaged seeds complete with a QR code linking to a website to talk you through how to care for your seeds seemed perfect. However almost 6 weeks later they have still not received these seeds. I appreciate that seed suppliers are now in high demand but its now too late to plant some of these seeds so the order is of no use to us. A reputable supplier, in my opinion who understands their product should recognise this and be offering customers refunds instead of holding onto the money and trying to still fulfill orders that are no longer of use. To further compound this they have removed contact information from their website so we are unable to cancel the order and get a refund. Whilst on the subject of the website restructuring this is now redirecting all requests to a page stating this is not all there fault, I will give them this as this is an unprecedented time, however they are also shifting some of the blame onto couriers. This I feel is quite unfair as apart from the occasional 1 day delay I have not experienced any issues with delayed shipments during the COVID-19 pandemic. Also by redirecting all their website requests through to this one page of the nice features about this company (the QR Codes) are now useless. They would have been better to put a banner at the top of the page saying they are unable to accept new orders and just dropped their stock counts down to zero to prevent checkouts. At least then customers could have still used the QR codes. This only reasons we have not given 1 star is the initial order did arrive in a timely manor and some of these seeds did germinate successfully. The other reason is the QRs codes that are a really nice touch albeit useless now.

Ordered 4 packs of Rosada Tomato seeds which arrived in due course well packaged. After giving a pack to a horticulturalist friend we compared germination results. He planted 5 seeds and had 1 success, and out of my 10 there were 4. Have been trying to get a response from these suppliers (email, phone, and their contact page) to discuss this poor performance, for over a week without success I now can only give them the 1 star for posting/delivery.
