I started learning to play the violin at the age of 28. Quite a late start but it has always been on my checklist for things to do before 30. I take lessons once a week and I am ready for the Grade 1 exam in just under a year!!!! I could not recommend Dorin enough, he is very patient and I love his technique in teaching. A strong house is built on a strong foundation, he takes a lot of time to perfect the basics; down to how I hold the violin and the bow. He is funny most times but he does like to crack a few dad jokes too, prepare yourself for that. 😂 The overall learning experience is amazing for me! Couldn't recommend him enough!!

Dorin teaches my Son since he was just 5-years-old. He did a really good job. If you saw him, you would know how professional he is. Moreover, he knows how to teach child and always inspire students to fulfil the learning task. The price he charged is reasonable as well. Another friend's son had learned with him since 7 and now he is in the high school who is never giving up and obtaining an achievement on violin exams.

After a year of taking lessons from Dorin, I would 100% (200%) recommend him as a teacher. His approach is fresh and relaxed, but absolutely nothing is overlooked - he wants to get the best out of you and the music. Lessons with Dorin are very enjoyable and I have learned a lot thanks to his attention to detail and passion. Thumbs up 👍🙂

I've been going to Dorin for around a year now and really enjoy my lessons. I'm an adult learner and can recommend Dorin completely.

You are one of the best violin teacher's I've ever had! A great man with lots of talents especially in music. Dorin you been a pleasure to work along side, I came to you as a beginner and based on my personal experience I would say Dorin taught me with so much patience and had a very professional manner! The method he used to teach me, helped me pick up playing the violin much more easily than usual. The way of his teaching is simply versatile, he also plays my Bollywood music, (which is a category I like) which he could switch up to classical and any other genre. Thanks for help me improved!

I was being taught by Dorin because he was helping me do my grade 4 hoping he would be able to get me a good mark in my music exam. It was not a good experience. Let’s give him some brownie points, he’s an excellent violinist, that’s pretty much self explanatory but his teaching skills were awful. Firstly, he mainly showed off while trying to show me how to play a certain piece. Secondly, he would go off on a tangent about how he would play the piece, dwindling down the time spent in the lesson learning what I needed to know to do my Grade 4 all because of some random note in the middle of the page which he wanted me to play in fourth position which you don’t even learn in grade 4. And finally, he cancelled my lessons right before my exam which is yet again unacceptable because I was working on my grade 4 with him and just like that, he cancelled my lessons, what a waste of time. I really needed that grade because I wanted to carry on with music in college but Dorin didn’t help me at all. I was 13 when I started lessons with him and it wasn’t fun, it’s boring and it didn’t help me at all. I would have gave him 0/5 stars but Google won’t allow it and he is an exceptional player and role model but he’s still an awful teacher so I’ll give him a 1/5 stars.

I had the opportunity to take part in a few violin lessons with Dorin and I've learned a great deal! I can say that besides the good professional preparation that he shows through all the explanations followed by concrete examples, he manages to create a link with the student, managing to adapt very quickly to one's needs. He encourages and gives praise and helps find the best solutions. Also he manages to create images that helps make the technical things easier to understand. I like the relaxed atmosphere, the humor, the calm tone that at the same time commands concentration, the patience and his effort that he puts in. His lessons efficiently combine the theoretical and the practical sides of playing.

I have taken violin lessons with Dorin for almost two years until I took on my music college studies in the UK and Germany, I can highly recommend him as a incredibly passionate musician who found all ways to encourage me to understand violin playing, music while having joy at finding beautiful and better ways of expressing it. Having taken lessons with him embarked me in a route of great artistic experiences, successfully auditioning for youth orchesters and getting accepted into Junior RNCM and later on into senior colleges, this beeing a highlight for my development, for which i am deeply grateful. I am looking forward to exchange with his up comming students as well as playing soon in a Concert with him again. Best Wishes, iSaAc Espinoza
