Vinci were awarded the contract by our Landlord some time ago to remove the existing cladding from our building and replace it with a safer version.. They also adapted our bathroom for my elderly mother who is disabled .. The quality of work in my opinion was not carried out professionally and to a high standard... In our bathroom, corners were cut, we were NEVER consulted as the work was in progress to see if the adaptation was to our liking or approval....We voiced our concerns many times and even offered to pay towards the adaptation to improve the adaptation, but were knocked back EVERY single time....The quality of work is poor and my elderly parents and I struggle to use the bathroom safely...My parents who are now in their 90's have fallen several times and my mother cannot use her walking frame (after a hip fracture) in the bathroom as the toilet was left protruding at least 8 inches from the wall...She has to manoeuvre the frame into the shower cubicle in order to use the toilet....To take a shower is a chore, as the positioning of the shower unit is ridiculous, so we are forced to wash at the sink instead... They left an earth wire exposed close to the floor which could easily get damaged, making all metal parts potentially hazardous.. The cistern lid was incorrectly fitted, so the hole does not allow the supplied screw to line up...It had to be discarded.. It also makes the toilet seat fall forward as it is almost vertical when open!! The bathroom cabinet was fitted with one corner protruding, so had to be removed and refitted correctly.. The overall finish and quality of work is very poor in my opinion... There are many more issues I could list!! Mansell undertook the original cladding and upgrades both internally and externally....They were totally different to Vinci in terms of quality of work, professionalism and their Liaison Officer was approachable, listened to what we asked... They did not cut corners like Vinci . In fact, they bent over backwards to please us...Vinci should take a leaf out of Mansell's book in my opinion!!
