Just had a fantastic overnight stay at the Villa Rothsay. Lovely atmosphere, room was beautiful with a lovely view, loved sitting and having a gin watching the ships pass by. Breakfast was delicious! Margaret and the team were really lovely and welcoming, would 100% recommend and will definitely come back!

Rooms: Each room is named after a yacht and decorated accordingly. I had a front room excellent views to sea as hotel is on a hill Food & drinks: We had an excellent evening meal good size portions and good value. A well stocked honesty bar means you can have a drink at any time.

Margaret and Jay were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was beautifully furnished with an ocean view. The Victorian furnishings and sailing memorabilia added to the ambiance. A wide selection of breakfast options were provided and I would recommend the delicious full English. I could not find fault with any aspect of this charming hotel.

Wouldn’t stay here if I was paid. Ran by stuck up owners who treat staff and ‘not so well-to-do’ guests like dirt. Over priced rooms that’s need a serious update. Everywhere smells like musk and it’s not even in cowes town centre. Dark and creaky. Not sure what it has to offer ? So many nice hotels in Cowes. If I could give it 0 stars I would. Do not stay here !

Like stepping back in time to a world where service and attention to detail came as standard. We stayed in Mrs H's room which had wonderful views over the Solent. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Decor throughout the hotel is faded elegance (in the best possible way) from the Victorian and Edwardian eras. The owner and staff were efficient and charming with wonderful stories about the great and good that have graced it's wall in bygone years. We are looking forward to our next visit.
