City of Lights tour One of the worst experiences of my life! Our trip was booked in January of 2022 for The city of lights tour in November of 2022 to Germany. It was a "first class offering with only 2 offerings available. First class tickets from Nashville to Prague. Two days in Prague and two days in Paris on the end of the trip. We were scheduled to meet friends that live in Poland. They drove 600 miles to meet us. Also, friends from North Carolina were meeting us in London to continue on to Prague. When we got to the airport, our flight was cancelled with British Air " the crew hadn't had the required rest. We contacted Viking and had absolutely no help. Said they would schedule the same flight for the next day. As a cautionary measure we contacted British Air to be sure we were booked for the next day. We were told we were booked stand by and not guaranteed a ticket. In order to secure this Business class ticket we would have to pay an additional $2500.00. We paid the $2500.00 and proceeded the next day. Our plane was late taking off. We arrived in Heathrow airport ( the absolute worst airport I have ever experienced). We had to run to our connecting flight. As we were going through security we were told to "go back to the desk" after 10 minutes waiting to the steward to get off the phone, we were told our flight was boarding and we would have to take the next flight, 6 hours later. We boarded our next flight from London to Prague (business class was a regular seat with the middle seat blocked) We arrived in Prague at 8 pm that evening and left the next morning for the boat. We had 10 hours in Prague with our friends. Our travel date was November 9-20. The City of Lights tour described as follows. "This is a tour through Germany. Sail Europe’s most iconic rivers: the Moselle with its steep vineyards; the castle-studded Rhine; and the Main, lined with quaint villages. Taste legendary Moselle Rieslings. Survey the Rhine from 900-year-old Marksburg Castle. Explore Prague’s Lobkowicz Palace on a Privileged Access tour designed just for us by Prince William. Savor French, German and Czech cuisine. With bookends in Paris and Prague, this 12-day journey celebrates Europe’s most luminous ports." What we were not told was was this. Two weeks before Christmas Market so most of the businesses in these small, quaint German towns close two weeks before Christmas Market. Needless to say, most shops and restaurants were closed. Our last day we had a 5 hour bus ride to Paris arriving in Paris around 8 pm that evening. We had 28 hours in Paris. Viking assumes no responsibility until we pursue our travel insurance with Trip Mate ( owned be Viking). We submitted our original claim November 23, 2022. After numerous attempts to resolve this nightmare we are still waiting for a response. The boat experience was spoiled by the "Hotel manager" who's name was Jason Pascall. He was a horrible human being that should never be allowed to work with the public. I had multiple issues with Pascall as well as our friends that traveled with us. Avoid this trip and Trip Mate at all cost!

Do not buy Tutankhamun tickets from them. ITS A RIP OFF. I bought 2 tickets for £63.90 on 13 May 2019. Still have not got them! Viking should stick to cruising - 5 stars for that. None for Tut ticket sales. I,m going to try and get my money back from the credit card company. When I phoned Viking (twice today and also put through to event office) - all they said was there was nothing that they can do!!!! STICK TO CRUISING!
