I had a number of specific bike issues that I wanted to learn how to deal with. Youtube is good, but it is no substitute for hands on learning! I liked that Vicky uses a calm and mindful approach to learning, so I contacted her and she arranged a Zoom call so we could discuss my needs. We agreed that 1:1 learning across two days would be best for me, to cover everything I wanted to know. On the day itself, I was met with a warm welcome at her workshop in Kent. We ran through the schedule for my two days of learning, and then got stuck into it. I was able to cover everything on my list, including a very useful alternative skill, when I realised I'd bought the wrong sized dropper post! Vicky is a natural teacher with a clear passion for sharing her vast wealth of mechanical knowledge. She ensured I felt cable tensions, looked to see how parts moved and listened for signs of wear. This mindful approach meant that I was involved and focused on the learning, and absorbed her teaching well. We worked at a pace I was happy with and were able to run through in more detail anything I wanted extra clarification on. I now feel more confident in tackling future bike maintenance issues myself. Parts have been de-mystified and I look forward to keeping my bike running smoothly for many more years to come. If you are looking to support a women-led small business and learn valuable bike maintenance skills, then look no further than VickyBikes. Investing in your skills is one of the best gifts you can give to yourself. Thank you Vicky!

I met Vicky and Alice at an event on Faversham Rec. They immediately said hello and, when I asked about advise, they told me to bring over my bike so they could look over it. I brought my bike back and they told me exactly what I needed to do to fix it and even helped me do it! They patiently talked me through the entire repair process and even gave me a replacement gear cable too! Honestly, they couldn't have been more helpful! It was also so lucky that one of the stalls around the event had the part I needed so they could talk me through replacing it! I learned so much and I am incredibly grateful to these 2 amazing people! If you want training on bike repair, honestly talk to them and you will learn so much! 1000/10 would recommend!

Great atmosphere & location. Vicky is a first class teacher & I highly recommend booking some maintenance classes with her.

Vicky ran a mechanic session for us at The New Forest Off Road club on Sunday the 18th July. Despite having never been able to understand how my gears work previously, Vicky drew helpful diagrams and explained them in a way that now makes me understand! Since attending Vicky’s sessions, I can confidently change punctures, I’ve changed my gear cable and I’m excited to go on longer bike rides, confident in the knowledge I know how to get myself home should anything go wrong. Excellent teacher, even better mechanic.

I did the 1:1 mechanic course online 6 sessions and I loved it. The course was professional and thorough. I am amazed by how much I have learnt and all via zoom. This is down to the way Vicky teaches and the confidence she gives to achieve, overcome challenges and solve problems. She has a ‘you can do it’ attitude. She is patient and gives clear explanations. I have videos to go back to and a file of material to support the lessons. I can now confidently service my bike and my sons and identify mechanical issues and fix them. My bike spends much less time in the bike shop for repair! Thank you Vicky 😊

Vicky delivered a one to one Mindful Mechanics course via Zoom over lockdown and it was absolutely fantastic. Vicky was very knowledgeable and she gave me some really useful skills and lots of confidence to carry out work on my bike. I would definitely recommend her and would use her again if I wanted to develop my skills further.

I was lucky enough to win a one to one online bike maintenance session with Vicky. Being a 'lockdown' newcomer to road cycling, I found this session very informative, which has given me the confidence to know what to look for when checking my bike pre ride and also how to change a tyre. I will definitely sign up for further courses with Vicky to enable me to maintain my own bike :-)

Recently attended a bike maintenance course with Vicky. Very pleased I went. She really knows her stuff and the mix of show and then do, really improved my confidence. Small group size meant we all got what we needed. She covered tires/wheels, brakes and gears/chains and lots of extra stuff too. Very happy to recommend and will definitely look for the next course.
