My mother Mrs Margaret Howey was admitted into Vicarage Court Care Home after spending 3 weeks in Pinderfields Hospital with Flu Type B and pneumonia. This was arranged as an interim placement before being well enough to come home with some help in place. She spent 3 weeks here being cared for and looked after by the many staff we came into contact with over that time. Initially we had some problems when she was admitted which was a Friday evening. She has full faculties and has bad asthma. Unfortunately all medications were removed from her possession due to procedure. This at the time caused great distress both to her and ourselves. This however was soon resolved by Monday morning once we had spoken to Tracey the manager. Mum was moved rooms to a much more social floor and within easy reach of reception. Both Mum and ourselves were much happier about this arrangement and Tracey spent a long time explaining to Mum as to why this had happened. We couldn’t have asked for better. She accepted everything that was said to her. Following on from this the staff could not do enough for her and often called in to chat to her. As she had recently lost her husband of 70 years this was a good talking point and helped her grieve with her loss. The staff were lovely with her. Special mention to Zoe, Holly, Laura, Debbie, Janet, and Paula. There were others too who Mum came into contact with. The care home had Covid whilst Mum was here and this was also dealt with in a caring and efficient manner thanks to great management yet again. The team also had Mum ready and dressed with hair all done for Dads funeral. We were brought to tears when we went to pick her up that morning. Since leaving the care home we have had help with other arrangements too. The staff under Tracey have gone over and above to help us. Thankyou so much for your care and kindness. We would have no problem in recommending Vicarage Court to anyone needing specialist help. Jill Howey ( Daughter )

This is a terrible place. Once you get below the surface of the initial talk that they give you when you are initially viewing, it sounds good but they are impatient, rude, poor food quality (sausage roll & spaghetti hoops??) Plasic cutlery, Poor maintenance, dementia patients are just left left in a small area with no stimulation. Very poor. Eat relax and toilet all in same area. 90 yr old escaped out of patio door in the middle of the night. Our relative was moved. . luckily.
