I have just bought a pet insurance and have now been waiting 3 weeks and they cannot find the claim which has been sent by post - no help from them had to wait ages and wish I had not taken out their policy

Appalling service, have had an ongoing health issue with my Tibetan terrier who was diagnosed with diabetes. This company keep asking for further details from our vets, why her diabetes isn't going to get better. And regarding paying out your claim tectonic plates move quicker, over a month from receiving the claim form and paying out. Avoid at all costs wish I had stuck with Petplan.

It was a huge mistake going with VetsMediCover. Our premiums have increased 700% since we first took out our policy, but because our cat has a chronic condition we cannot move. Their approach seems to be to recover any claims you make the year afterwards - so it's not insurance, it's a credit facility. They are, frankly, disreputable crooks. Don't get involved with them!

Avoid this company. Just had my renewal fee at £120 per year for a cavalier king Charles spaniel it has increased by nearly 50%. It increases every single year but its becoming silly now. Its like they want you to cancel when the dog reaches a certain age. Poor company. Wish I had gone elsewhere in the first place.

I would highly advise you to look at other main stream insurers than Vets Medi Cover. I’ve been with them roughly 7 years, my dog now costs £137 per month. I have a 12 year old pedigree cat with pet plan on a lifetime cover that has had over 19k surgery, petplan have paid out and his premium is £54 a month only £7 different to my other two cats on pet plan. The premiums just go up and up.. there is a contribution too. Steer clear of this company it’s not worth the hassle. Stay with a big brand insurer you will get a fairer price. Also every year the underwriters change, the company just seems like a money grabbing shambles.
