What a shame. I've always rated vets for pets in Maldon. Have had 2 pet plans with them for 4 years. But unfortunately, rudness from the receptionist today has changed my mind. Pet plans are cancelled and I will not be going back.

As usual friendly staff. Dental procedure discussed beforehand. Call afterwards with an update. On collection a debrief and full instructions for aftercare and meds. Helped out to my car with my dog. Follow up call today (next day) to see how my dog was getting on and to say if any problems do not hesitate to contact them.

From start to finish when I brought my cat in Vets4Pets couldn’t have been any more helpful and explaining and understanding, and I’m pleased to say that my cat has now gained a clean book of health. Thank you to the team.

After pointing out a change in my dogs behaviour in the last week at her routine health check and vaccination booster. The vet examined my dog and completely unexpectedly found a mass most likely malignant and because of where it is inoperable. This was such a shock but the vet did try to explain my options clearly even though I was obviously emotional. The prognosis is bleak but at least we can investigate and make informed choices about what’s best for our much loved dog. As a post script to the above. Our dog went in for her investigation which was blood tests an x-ray (to see if the tumor had spread) and a biopsy. Approx cost £750. In the afternoon I got a telephone call from the original vet to say the blood tests were good from the x-ray they could see no spread of tumor. Oh and we didn’t do the biopsy. Why? Because we couldn’t find anything there was no mass it has disappeared!! They could only assume the mass had not been a tumor but inflammation that had sorted itself out without treatment during the 10 days that we waited for the investigations. As you can imagine I was euphoric when I went to pick my dog up and paid the £505 bill but by the next day I started to get angry. Suppose we couldn’t have afforded the tests our poor dog would have been on palliative care (or worse) for no reason. I emailed the vet the next day raising my concerns asking why they didn’t consider inflammation in the first place before putting our dog and us through these unnecessary tests and giving us such a bleak prognosis. So far 3 days later I have had no response or acknowledgement of my email. I won’t be leaving this I want an explanation when I get one I will update my review again.
