I dropped my dog off on Friday morning to be spayed which is a standard operation. I then received a phone call at lunch time to tell me they had given her too much anaesthetic due to an incompetent member of staff who had written her weight incorrectly on the anaesthetic form!!! The consent form I had signed had her correct weight on as I was there when they weighed her and I then signed the form. My poor dog could have died from what they have done! Thankfully she is doing ok but is currently spending the weekend in hospital on fluids instead of being at home where she belongs. God knows if this will potentially cause any issues further down the line but they should be praying that it doesn’t! When I went to collect her yesterday (as I had to transport her to the hospital) they also had the cheek to ask me for payment! I’m not sure what other answer they were expecting from me other than a firm no! I wouldn’t take any of my animals to this practice with this mistake being so easily made and the fact that this could have so easily have gone the other way for my poor dog 😢

The South African vet is very rude and ended up getting my dogs back up and stressed me and my dog out which made it very difficult and traumatic experience. All the other staff/vets are spot on and this is why we keep coming back. I will be reporting cobus to the VMD.
