Should you be considering purchasing a car from Vertu Bolton, I would strongly advise that you consider your options. When placing the order for my new Jaguar XE all appeared fine and Bev in sales was truly a pleasure to deal with, thank you once again for making the purchase process a pleasurable experience Bev. After my deposit was taken I was advised that there would be an extended lead time for my car due to chip shortages which was understandable and accepted, though soon after I was offered the showroom car which I was happy to take rather than to sit out a protracted delivery delay. All good so far, however, regrettably it has since materialised that the aftersales service provided by Vertu Bolton is abysmal. After my XE was serviced, the service reminder alert continued to show on the dashboard and despite attempts to reset it, by following Jaguars recommended resetting process, the alert remained. On contacting Vertu Bolton I was told by Lee in the service department that diagnostics would need to be run on the car and that there would be a charge of £198 to do so. On questioning why this charge would be levied Lees responses were laced with attitude and throughout the conversation he displayed total disregard to assist a customer that had purchased a brand new vehicle from the dealership just 18 month prior. I’m new to the Jaguar brand and the brand has won me over. I love the car and my next car purchase will be a Jaguar again for sure; my wife is also considering replacing her C Class with an E Pace. However for the sake of £198, and likely less than 30 minutes work to plug the car into diagnostic equipment, Vertu Bolton have lost a customer forever as neither I nor my wife will ever spend a penny more with this dealership. Lee Burns, Head of Business, should you take notice of this review and truly wish to follow up then please feel free to contact me, you have my details on file. It’s apparent that the sales and service departments are disconnected and as Business Manager you may wish to make improvements to avoid commercially damaging decisions being made by your service department. Regardless as to how pleasant your sales team may be your dealership is let down by a non-customer-focused service department staffed by ill-mannered, commercially naive employees. UPDATE: To say I’m disgusted with the service and the total absence of customer culture within this dealership is an understatement. As mentioned below by Head of Business, Lee Burns, he did indeed contact me. The conversation concluded with Lee advising that it was highly unlikely that I would be charged to reset the service reminder alert and that he would ask his service manager to contact me to book the car in. I waiting a week and then received a call from the service manager who went on to advise that I would be charged a £99 fee to reset the service reminder alarm! I explained the conversation that I’d had with Lee Burns including the promise he had made to me personally and asked whether Lee was going back on his promise. The service manager said that she would have to have a further conversation with Lee Bruns. That was over 2 weeks ago now and still no reply! Lee Burns, as mentioned, I was relieved when I received your call, it gave me hope that perhaps the unprofessional conduct and lack of customer focus was isolated within your service department. However, it’s clear that the lack of customer care and service beyond the point of sale is deeply rooted within core of this dealership. As a result I will not be spending a penny more with Vertu Bolton, and although I have very much bought into the Jaguar brand, so too has my wife who is currently eyeing up an E-Pace, I shall take my business to Hatfields Jaguar in Liverpool which I believe has a far better reputation.

Words can’t describe how bad this dealership is for customer service. Before I even picked up my brand new F-Pace they’d irreparably damaged the paintwork which I had to accept as a concession. The car then failed twice in the first 3 months and they were a nightmare to deal with just showing a real apathy and lack of interest in my issues. They’ll promise call backs that don’t come and just become extremely disinterested once they’ve foisted some substandard product on you.

Got my car serviced and MOT’ed by them and it was a mixed experience. Pros: slick handover and nice courtesy car. Negatives: the service took longer than it should have. They told me two items were MOT failures when neither were (rear wiper blade and brake pad 70% worn). It was only when I disputed this that they caved. They also won’t reply to your emails and it took a month of chasing for me to get a copy of my invoice. The service indicator also wasn’t reset by them and I still haven’t had a response. Not the end of the world but annoying that something routine was missed.

DISHONEST GARAGE - Supposedly changed my husbands Air Filter - Pollen Filter - Fuel filter -Oil Filter + Oil service - had them checked straight after the service and the old parts are still in there! Absolute disgrace trusted them with mt £100,000 SVR and they have just absolutely blagged me. Disappointing- Staff weren’t willing to help as it was closing time.
