The team at Novello, from the office staff who booked my appointment to the surveyor who spoke to me on the phone and John who came out to do the survey were absolutely fantastic. I'd been enquiring about prices with various surveyors, including Novello. One afternoon they called to say that they'd had a cancellation and asked if we'd like to take the slot. To encourage us, they offered a drone inspection and told us of the benefits this would bring. We chose a survey costing around £800, under the impression that they only accepted a limited number of clients at this price point in order to make time for them -- and that with the addition of the drone survey it would be good value. But our expectations on these grounds wouldn't be met. The surveyor was always busy, and after completing his visit to the property it would be a number of days before we received his report. In fact, when it was finally sent to us by email the file was corrupt. It took a lot of chasing before we could finally see a copy of what we had paid for. Making matters worse, it turned out that the drone inspection that had sealed the deal for us could not go ahead because the property was too near a flight path. When we raised this, the surveyor said the best thing he could do was ask whether we could get a discount on a future survey to make up for this omission but we never heard about that again. He seemed really friendly and knowledgeable, and the survey was good quality, but ultimately we still felt let down based on what we thought we were paying for and the amount we paid.
