Just had a call from a very rude member of staff at valentine medical center. She didn't give her name & couldn't be bothered with anything I was saying of my concern with current medication I have concerns with. Totally not the way to speak to patients. May need to be trained in customer services & better ways of communicating with patients.

Like the majority of GP Surgeries : 1). There are too few medical practitioners who are, quite reasonably, unable to work enough hours to satisfactorily cope with too many patients with an increasingly ageing profile. 2). Virtually every administration since 1948 has sought to save money by underfunding the NHS and the 21st century has seen Primary care budgets particularly harshly hit. 3). Like most surgeries it no longer offers an allocated practitioner for patients with chronic issues. That is inherently inefficient. (Obviously acute problems SHOULD be dealt with by the first available practitioner.) 4). Whether through pressure of patient numbers, poor recruitment, underfunding or a combination of the three - the administration is weak. 5). The telephone system itself is inadequate and, given the time it takes to receive a reply, so are the staffing levels ! Calls from the surgery to patients are made using a withheld number which precludes patients from blocking calls from withheld numbers 99% of are nuisance and or scam calls 6). The supposedly interactive IT system for prescription renewal is unfit for purpose. Improvement is required ! The ancillary medical staff - specialist nurses for example - are friendly and as helpful as they can be given their workloads and the restrictions of their job descriptions. Pressure of work seems to have resulted in the GPs themselves being robotic and prone to make mistakes.

I was seen today by Dr Hargreaves 7/02/23. Apart from my appointment time rang a little late, I am scoring her five for the very good examination also for explaining the meaning of a previous blood test sample result. I were able to follow with ease. In my opinion. Dr Hargreaves went beyond the call of duty and l am great full. Keep up the good work Dr. Hargreaves we need more like you. Please find as requested the photo attached. T. Reeves.
