Stopped here on my holiday around Scotland recently. I bought a ukelele bass, which turned out to be defective. They then fixed it but my confidence in the build quality and thought behind the instrument was gone, so they allowed to me return in without quibble. Gregg was very attentive and helpful, all the staff are friendly and act as though they actually want you there, which isnt always the case with music shops. would definitely recommend and go again in the future, when i'm in that neck of the woods again.

I'd looked at the stock, and looked at the reviews and was fairly certain which guitar I was going to walk out with, but I just needed "talking over the line" and trying a couple of others to know this was the one. But, on trying the guitar and some others that were similar, the guy didn't seem to know anything about them. He was nice enough, and patient, and answered my questions, just didn't really answer them very well at all. He couldn't explain specifically the difference in price ("it's usually the materials are different? and maybe the pickups? Also maybe the build quality?"). He suggested the pickups were different, but when i checked the pickups, they were exactly the same. Maybe he just works there on weekends, but he clearly didn't know the stock very well. Nice enough guy, but he kind of undid a sale. Not answering any of my questions, he sort of left me feeling like this was still an uninformed decision. I went for a coffee, googled the guitars a bit (and based upon google, I decided which one I wanted between the 2 guitars) and then set off to go back and buy the guitar. But on the way, I thought "I'll just check in the other shop" (Ness Guitars). The guy in Ness Guitars was everything I was expecting the other guy to have been - gave me loads of advice and help in choosing a guitar - told me the differences between them all, and let me choose. Walked out with a guitar from Ness Guitars that I'm really pleased with (and more expensive than what I originally looked at in The Music Shop)

I was delighted to discover The Music Shop and their friendly, helpful staff. I have played whistles for many years but there aren't many shops here in the U.S. that carry the highest quality whistles. Multiple internet searches led me to The Music Shop and I purchased two MK low whistles. The quality of the whistles is outstanding, best whistles I've ever played, and the service from the team at The Music Shop was just as impressive. They were very responsive to all my questions and after I purchased the whistles they arrived within a week. If you are looking for a great shop to help you find the right products, especially for someone like me who is overseas, start with the folks here at The Music Shop.
