The bigger Upcycle store is less a than 5 minute walk from the one on High Street! It’s located at St Gerard’s Church, and has everything you could want : beds, tables, glassware, photo frames, shoes & clothes. A fantastic place for many finds, and the loveliest staff at the community cafe next door. Thank you so much to the staff who didn’t hesitate to help me carry donations in from the car. Oh and they sent a whole lorry (which took 3 days to fill) of donations to Ukraine. What a fantastic place, with a beautiful heart.

Having read about how they and their team of experts give old furniture a new lease of life I contacted them regarding a bureau in need of restoration not repair only to be informed that they do not repair or upcycle so I eould say don't believe what toy read on their Web page

I got in touch with upcycle following a family bereavement. They were very sympathetic & arranged a day & time to remove any items they could possibly re-sell at their store. I found their staff polite & efficient & would thoroughly recommend using upcycle particularly during difficult circumstances.

If only I could give zero stars. Around 8 months ago I went around my late fathers house with one of the ladies from Upcycle to see what items they would like. She agreed to take, amongst other things, a single and a double bed. I got a company to clear the rest of the house, only leaving the things that Upcycle wanted (£160 cost to myself) Fast forward to last week (house sale has finally gone through) when Upcycle visited to pick up the agreed items. They straight away said 'we can't take the beds' to which i replied that they already agreed to take them 8 month prior. I was then made out to be a liar, that she never even saw the beds previously, when the lady who attended was the one that took me over 8 month prior! When I protested saying she had most definitely saw the beds before and it wasn't my fault she hadn't checked them thorough enough, she also said the following (amongst other strange and rude comments); 1 - People have done this before, shown us a new bed then swapped it out for an older one(!?) 2 - We're a charity not a dumping ground. 3 - I should find another charity to take the items and she would leave everything. In the end I just said 'take what ever you want' and left them too it. Not accustomed to being called a liar when I'm just trying to help out and do my bit for charity. If anyone is thinking about giving items to this place just be prepared to have them call you a liar otherwise I wouldn't bother! atrocious.
