  Je suis envahie par la plus profonde tristesse à la lecture de cette information de la disparition et liquidation de cette unique et attachante entreprise qu'était Unto This Last. Nous l'avons découverte en 2015 quand mon fils s'est installé dans ce quartier de Brick Lane. La colocation étudiante en meublé n'était pas alors propice à l'investissement dans du mobilier. Aussi est-ce avec d'autant plus de plaisir que nous avons passé commande de lits et table l'été dernier. Malheureusement les lits n'auront jamais leurs boites de stockage ni la table ses chaises. Mais le pire est que cette partie de Brick Lane ne sera plus jamais la même sans l'âme de ce magnifique atelier agencé par son propriétaire en cathédrale de lumière et de transparence mettant si bien en valeur ses créations légères et racées. 23 ans d'investissement d'un propriétaire à la vision personnelle et au goût certain épaulé par des équipes jeunes et dédiées, réduits à néant par cette annus horribilis de 2022 dont les effets néfastes débordent sur 2023.   Really sorry this business has closed - have bought 7 items of furniture from them over the last 15 years, pleased with all of them. Really hope it can reopen in some form at some point. Also appreciated the long explanation of what had gone wrong and how they tried to solve it , various delays make more sense now. Fingers crossed the v kind staff all find new roles. Or even better, someone rescues the business!

  Do not order. I made a purchase in the first week of November 2022, accepting a 6 week lead time. Delivery has been cancelled three times at a day's notice and then when it was finally booked in a fourth time they didn't even do me the courtesy of emailing or calling to cancel, they just didn't show up whilst my partner stayed home for hours. Nobody answering phones or emails when I tried to find out why. Won't even respond about a refund so I'm in all likelihood out of pocket and never going to get the furniture I ordered. So disappointing as I got such a good impression of the company on visits to the Herne Hill work shop last year. The staff were friendly and knowledgable. Must have gone completely downhill in the last 6-7 months.

  I bought a table and bench and within 3 months the table top delaminated. I spoke to someone who said they could swap the table top over no problem and then after that they went quiet on me. Won’t answer the phone, ignore my emails and don’t return my calls. I do not recommend this company and am now wondering how to repair it. The 3 year guarantee is a lie… Service: Furniture repairs

  Wow! Tried contacting this company about ordering a kids table and chairs, no response at all. Tried their contact form and email but nothing. It’s like they don’t want your custom! Reading all these terrible reviews I’m not surprised at all, not going to bother to even try and place an order - will only end up disappointed! I’d rather spend my hard earned money with another small business who values their customers. Such a shame as the products are beautiful, but great service is also important too which is something they are clearly lacking. No surprise either that the owner only chooses to respond to good reviews!! What about all the other bad reviews?! One or two you could take with a pinch of salt, but the sheer volume is just alarming! The lack of response to any of these reviews these just shows their arrogance and how unprofessional they are. Will be steering well clear!!

  Extremely upset with their lack of professionalism. Ordered a table months ago, the delivery has been constantly pushed forward. Finally it was supposed to be delivered today, my partner flew earlier from the holidays to be at home. They sent an email just now saying that it will only be delivered next week. We managed to sell our previous table, meaning that we won't have a table to eat or work. Nothing justifies this! Service: Table construction & installation

  First off, I like the bench I ordered but the process of getting the bench was possibly the worst I have ever experienced. I really wanted to like Unto this Last but they made it extremely difficult. My order got delayed ten times (?) I lost count at some point. Each time with a different excuse… ‘the whole team has Covid’ (its 2022) ‘there’s been an accident in the workshop’ … The boy who cried wolf springs to mind…. I think at some point they just ran out excuses and decided they would actually have to make it. I understand that running a small business is difficult but having zero transparency, an absent customer service and a general attitude of taking the customers for complete mugs is not acceptable. I would have totally understood if they had told me from the start: ‘we’re having problems and your item will be considerably delayed, would you be OK with this or would you like a refund?’ Instead I had to make sure I was in every weekend just in case they actually decided to abide by the delivery time they gave me. Reading some other low star reviews it seems like my experience was not a one off and this is a pattern of behaviour. I would avoid this company until they decide to take their business seriously.   Terrible experience. Ordered three things this year. First (chest of drawers) never arrived - after a few long delays they just cancelled the order. Second (a bed) arrived months late, lasted about a month, then snapped clean in two when I sat down on it one day (pictures attached). I'm 11 stone. Particularly annoying is that the delivery man told me that he had raised concerns with them that the bed wasn't strong enough in the middle. I wrongly assumed that they knew how to build a bed and had tested it. Waiting for a refund. Third item (under bed storage) just hasn't arrived after multiple delays. I've tried to cancel this (as there is no bed to store anything under now) but waiting to hear back. Communication throughout all this has been absolute rubbish. Never pick up the phone. Take weeks, sometimes months to reply to emails. I wanted to support them and give them the benefit of the doubt, but you can't just take (a lot of) people's money, not deliver, not communicate and, when you do manage to get something built, make absolute rubbish.

  Furniture never arrived! 2 failed deliveries, endless attempts to get through to the shop, they eventually refunded me. Please please be careful ordering from here. They used to be great, I’ve got a few items, but they have serious issues now, judging by the other poor reviews. I just wish I’d checked Google reviews before I ordered. Fast forward a few months I wonder if they will still exist. But I wish them the best.

  Don't expect your item for at least 3 months... Having first put the order in and fully paid at the end of September this year, we have been delayed twice so far. Now due to pick our table and chairs up this Sunday and the only communication we have had so far has been (paraphrasing): we are planning on making your order this week will inform you if your collection is ready by Friday (today). I feel this doesn't reflect any due care for us as customers, and to what plans we put in place to collect furniture from them - be that hiring a van or paying a courier to collect in the off chance that our order is ready. Also, knowing the products haven't even started to be made 3 months after paying in full is a little damning. I know the products are 5 star quality, but sadly the customer service is a real let down at this stage. Fingers crossed we'll have a table to have Christmas dinner at! *EDIT* - (Fri 12th): They have postponed again. (3rd time). Each time has been a different excuse (1# Supply chain shortage, 2# COVID, 3# in house accident occured to to staff).
