This gym is TINY! For a university with 10,000+ students, the fact that this place has only 2 proper benches and 6 power racks is unacceptable. If you go during peak hours you will struggle to find a place to stand, no joke! Really a shame as the equipment itself is nice and modern

This is gym is essentially unusable during peak hours, no joke. I'm aware there's a certain amount of sacrifice using a gym during peak hours but this among one of the worst I've ever seen. You'll be waiting hours to use anything you want, and that's on the assumption that gym etiquette is followed because many times, it isn't. It's not an uncommon sight for there to be only two benches in front of free weights. Other gyms are substantially better and also cost less. But I guess St Andrews consider all their students to be rich and therefore open to fleecing. Thanks for the support St Andrews. As others have mentioned, overcrowding is a serious problem and the gym is absolutely tiny considering the volume of people using it. There is never any point in the week or day when it is quiet and you sometimes have to wait almost 20 minutes before getting equipment you want. Considering how much money this university makes you'd think they might be able to expand a little bit? They also go out of their way to make it difficult to pay monthly and force you to pay for entire semesters at a time. (edit: this appears to have changed - but still no option for a monthly direct debit). This "gym" is an embarrassment. Shame on you St Andrews, your students deserve better. Edit: there were some improvements made over summer including substantially better cable machines. They've also added these weird non-benches with dumbbells inside of them - why didn't you just add more benches and dumbbells? Thanfully, there is some much better leg machines. Since freshers week has started this gym has reverted back to type - being too small. We're not sardines

Tiny. Google asked me to update my review if it changed. Still tiny.

The gym itslef is nice, and the facilities are modern. Unfortunately the gym is always crowded, even at off peak hours you still often need to wait to use machines. It's too small and there's simply not enough space for all the people who use it. During peak hours it becomes absolutely unusable.
