Have recently attended an offer holder open day and was seriously considering Surrey as my insurance choice (mainly competing with Reading) and I have enjoyed the campus and the facilities, smart lecture theatres and all around good atmosphere. Location is also great with Guildford not being all that big and a walkable distance to the city centre. I really did think of this university quite highly. However I am extremely disappointed about one thing in particular, I had applied for a travel bursary to cover my travel expenses for the offer holder visit. This was supposed to be paid into my bank account within 30 days yet it was not, I have been in contact with the university to resolve the matter and they have not. It is really disappointing to see this happening and I dread to think of it happen to any others in need of the support. They still haven’t sorted the issue which has led to me giving up on ever getting the money unfortunately. Really not a good impression for students applying from low income/deprived backgrounds.

Not sure what it would be like on a typical day but we were here during the Easter break on an offer holder's day. Parking was good, loads of space, once we got our bearings it was easier to find our way around. Accommodation looks nice. We struggled to find hot food but that may have been due to the holidays.
