I have no idea who I just spoke to at Uni of Portsmouth (student payment department!) but she was smug, rude, patronising and unhelpful. She left me feeling shocked that someone with a public facing role can be so horrid. Genuinely concerned for the lack of people skills at this University.

Nice place and university. Unfortunately, its admission department loves rejecting good students because they consider exam boards’ false judgement about students a dogma. They fail to understand they lose money by rejecting students. Students mean money. Nobody in this world refuses money. People do everything for money even bad actions. This university, like all British universities, is a private institution. For this reason, it charges students £9,250 per year. The British government awards loans to students because it is very generous. I cannot study at this university because I do not meet the “entry requirements” i.e. I do not have money to buy grades from exam boards. Exam boards sell grades because they are private commercial companies (Limited). My internet provider is a Limited company. I give them money and, in return, they give me access to the internet. The grades they award students are based on money only, not on their skills and knowledge. Private universities accept all students to make money although they do not meet the entry requirements. If I went to a private university in Europe, they would accept me in order to make money. Additionally, science courses in British universities have empty places every year. This is the reason why clearing exists. Universities complain about empty places but they reject good students. This is a paradox. The most important things to succeed at university are mental skills and knowledge, not money. Maybe I am not suitable to study in the UK because I am a studious person. Meanwhile, British education is just a business. It is excellent for rich people having no mental skills and knowledge, not for poor people having mental skills and knowledge. I am a poor person having mental skills and knowledge to succeed at university. I can also study at medical school even though I did not buy 3 As. Brain is required to succeed at university, not money. Education is not a business in other European nations because there are no exam boards. Furthermore, sixth form colleges and universities are owned by governments. This is the reason why European students are not charged £9,250 per year.

After spending 4 years of my life studying here I can wholeheartedly say that this is the biggest scam. The university don't care about their students and exist purely to make money. The vice chancellor is on an eye watering salary and they are constantly making cuts to courses at the detriment of their students. Lecturers are often unskilled and rude and most I've interacted with have some weird superiority complex. However they want to portray themselves, this is not a good uni, this is not a prestigious uni. I can only speak for my experience in the school of computing however Quality of teaching is extremely poor. IT systems barely work, held together by duct tape and hopes and prayers. Consistently treated like a child, despite paying this place over 50k over the course of my time here. Student ambassadors are told to lie to entice prospective kids and parents to send their children here. I'd seriously reconsider if you were thinking of studying here.
