The admissions process at University of Derby was a complete nightmare. I had to deal with multiple errors and delays in getting my application reviewed.I had to make multiple follow-up calls and emails just to get a response from their staff. It almost felt like they didn't care about my application at all. Finally, when I did receive a decision about my admission, it was months after. The staff were unhelpful and unresponsive, leaving me feeling frustrated and uncertain about my chances of being accepted. I even missed out on scholarship opportunities because of their incompetence. Overall, a truly disappointing experience that left a sour taste in my mouth.

I truly do not recommend. I moved to Derby for this university and I regret it since. I have tried services, societies, I have volunteered for multiple occasions. I was even a rep on my second year trying to make a difference. Everywhere I was left alone, feel unwelcomed and unheard. I am rather introvert so asking for help did not come easy. It was difficult from day one and eventually led me to mental problems and strong medications (probably what I am the most upset about). Some of the lectures offered help with assignments, mostly in year two and the final one, other than that you are on your own. University represents itself as diverse, tolerant and including. How did I manage to not fit absolutely anywhere despite trying almost anything I will never understand. I was 25 at the time when I started and my best uni friend was 19, we both felt exactly the same about the collage. You think of Derby? Just go for another choice.

I'm currently studying for my master's at the University of Derby and I couldn't be happier with my experience here! The campus is set in beautiful surroundings and has a great variety of food options, including Starbucks, Subway, and other coffee shop and eateries. But what really makes the university stand out is its diverse teaching staff - my lecturers come from all over the world, which provides a unique and global perspective on my studies. I've learned so much from hearing about their experiences and cultural backgrounds. Overall, I highly recommend the University of Derby!

Overall a really good university. 80% of the history professors were excellent as both professors and had strong teaching skills. Within 3 semesters I was able to transform my E and D grades to B and C grades. They were very committed to teaching and development, they are also good at handing assignments back quickly with constructive feedback so that you can improve quickly. The campus is small, clean, and pleasant. Good support for students with disabilities. The accommodation was OK, but no soundproofing between rooms, and a lack of discipline over the noise. Career advice could have been a lot better and more opportunities for humanities students need to be developed.
