    I have been a patient of this practice for over 15 years. I initially went to them as a teenager then under Kee dental and my then dentist Irene was incredible! Unfortunately in recent years since she has left appointments have been shorter and always give the same advice. When I asked about having a crown the dentist suggest I go and see a plastic surgeon which was baffling. After I paid for the appointment and received my receipt I had a bombardment of phone calls asking whether I could send them the receipt. I honestly felt as if they were accusing me of theft. I emailed an image of the receipt and all I received was many thanks not a sorry for the inconvenience (They spoke to me on the phone 3 times in one day just about the receipt) I decided to change dentists and I’m so glad I did I’ve gone back to a dentist with a friendly, family run atmosphere instead of a money making atmosphere which is the current feel in university dental. My advice to anyone who is a patient here make sure you keep your receipt!

    I went to the emergency dentists in Swansea Uni today, where I was going to potentially have an extraction of a painful tooth that had severely decayed. My face was checked, and I was administered 3 spot injections of local anaesthetic the Dental Nurse then checked the area and decided on an x-ray as I was still in a lot of pain after the first injections. It was then found that there was an infection under the tooth. However, rather than stopping the Dental Nurse decided to proceed, they went in with at least another three-spot injections of local anaesthetic and again wait and attempt to go ahead with the extraction. They then tested the area to see if I was in pain and I confirmed that I was. Again they administered at least another 3 if not four shots of the anaesthetic which by this time had not had any massive effect. They then went to attempt an extraction but I was in so much pain that I asked for them to stop. It was at this point that they finally conceded that the infection needed to be treated first and then I could come and have the tooth removed. I was prescribed with Metronidazole (400mg Tablets) and Amoxicillin (500mg Tablets) to deal with the infection and an appointment was then madeto proceed once more. What concerns me about all of this is that when a tooth has an infection of any sort when it comes to extractions are not carried out until they are clear, so I ask this why did they continue to not only inject me with (too much) anaesthetic after it was clear that A) the infection was there and B) the first course of Anaesthesia was not effective. I would recommend folks stay clear of this practice as it seems to be commonplace to do such shoddy and dangerous work.
