This is somewhat of a late review in regards to when I stayed at Moonraker point. I stayed in the academic year of 2020-2021 and despite the challenges faced due to COVID-19 the accommodation was exceptional and particularly shone because of the fantastic staff that work there. I understand that at the time restrictions were much tighter than when I am writing this, and especially as most residents are first year university students, the staff did an incredible job of respecting the rules and liaising with us despite the challenges and their duties. Also worth noting was when lockdowns were very severe rent rebates were issued, and although this was likely through the university it was great to see as many people I know did not have this luxury. To name only a few, and I am certainly missing some names, Otti, Ryan and Shakeel were always absolutely lovely and deserve a special mention. Always very helpful at the front desk all hours of the day or with whatever you might need. Without the staff, who work very hard to manage so many residents, I don’t feel Moonraker Point would be in any way the same. In terms of the rooms, I have no complaints as mine was very clean upon arrival and although there are obviously some flaws, such as the shower is relatively low if you are tall, and the rent price itself, the facilities are excellent. As a first year, obviously as long as you make an effort, it is no trouble at all to meet people like you and find a group you are comfortable with. I would recommend making sure you get a Mail key as this is something I never received but this is a minor detail. The building is in a fantastic location for KCL students, 10 minutes walking from Waterloo and particularly good for Guys based students as it is also only a 10 minute walk. I would highly recommend this accommodation to those starting off at Kings or looking for a centrally located place to stay. (Depending on budget!) Again, thank you so much to the staff! You really made a quite challenging time much easier and more comfortable.
