  Wouldn’t go any where else for my hair! These girls are the best! So knowledgeable and caring. And the salon is beautiful too. From the minute you walk in until the very end they look after you and my blonde has never looked so healthy and natural. I see Ashleigh for my hair and every single time she not only does my hair beautifully but I leave feeling so positive after a good chat with her!   I never write these types of reviews but feel I should warn other people of the treatment you get at this salon. Back in early December 2022 I was looking for a salon to get my highlights done (with Toner), it was a last minute decision. I looked on the Tuesday evening for an appointment on the Saturday and came across Unit Four. I was surprised they had an appointment at such short notice. I booked online, having to give my card details, and did see their policy to have a skin test which is normal. Plus they said you need to give 48hrs notice to cancel, but I wasn’t expecting to cancel so I didn’t mind. The next day I started feeling ill, mainly fluey/full of cold. At this stage I thought I would be fine by Saturday (there was something going around including Covid). Later that day my niece, who lives with me, started to also feel bad. Looking after her & myself the last thing on my mind was getting a patch test, even though I did get a text from the salon. I planned to pop along to the salon on Friday afternoon, hoping we would both be better. Both of us had worsened by the next day and by Friday morning, having spoken to a doctor I was told to take my niece to A&E. Whilst travelling there I got a text to say if I didn’t do a patch test that morning I would have to cancel my appointment. I immediately text back to say I was taking my niece to A&E that morning and therefore needed to cancel, due to that and my own illness. I then got a notification from my credit card to say over £80 had been taken from my account! As I was due to have highlights etc, they had taken 50% of the total cost of my appointment. I was flabbergasted! I had told them I was In A&E & they had just taken the money straight away. I totally understand a deposit system, and if I had had to pay £20 or £30 that would have been more acceptable but to take over £80 when I had to cancel through no fault of my own was extremely excessive. Especially as I had given over 24hours notice. (Which is normal in most other service businesses). This is no way to run a business. Even after I explained everything they didn’t back down and therefore took over £80 for nothing. It was a Saturday afternoon appointment which I am sure they could of filled…………..all in all a terrible experience, with rude text messages and £80 down for nothing, whilst looking after a very sick niece!

  I’ve thought long and hard as to whether to leave this review or not but I’ve felt I have to or it’s a dis-justice to other people trying to find honest and real reviews when looking for a new hairdresser. I’ll start by saying I really like Ashleigh and she cut my hair really nice on the first visit which is why I came back to get a half head highlights. However, when I got home after my first visit my hair looked so awful and patchy. One area of my head was bleach blonde and highlights were really close together and the other side and top of my head where much darker and further apart where she had run out of time. What’s worse is that the highlights were nowhere near the root of my hair so I had lines all through it and clumps of badly bleached areas all around my face. Awkwardly a week later I called and told them I couldn’t wear my hair down as it looked so bad, which they were really nice and reassured they’d sort it. As I was about to go on holiday and I’d already had so much bleach in my hair, Ashleigh did a temporary fix by doing a root shadow and toner which then made my hair much darker again like how it was before I’d had it done which obviously was far from what I’d asked for. She could clearly see I wasn’t happy so then told me to book in once I was home and she’ll do it all again. Which so she should after the mess the first time. When I went back - time was really tight after my appointment had happily been made earlier then on the day was told there wasn’t enough time. So rather than doing a half head of highlights Ashleigh tells me she’ll just scatter a few through the sides- which is obviously not what I’d paid for. I said what about the top/rest of it and she said “was there anything wrong with that part”. Anyway she scattered highlights through the top and sides and as soon as they were washed off I could see again that they were nowhere near the root of my hair, there was clumps of bleached parts again and it’s was uneven again. At the sink there were a few treatments applied to my hair which I had no idea what or why that was being done. I’m so disappointed I paid £90 for colour that is genuinely one of the worst I’ve had in the 15 years of getting my hair highlighted and never have I had to have a root shadow to correct such poor application of bleach. I have never had anyone apply bleach to my hair so carelessly. I’m now left with hair that looks like it’s been done in some cheap backstreet hairdressers and I’m only a matter of weeks away from my wedding day! It’s also gone curly on the sides of my head which I’ve never had because it’s stripped my hair so much and lots of broken hairs too. I’m sad to leave this review but I’m more sad that I’ve paid £90 for hair that looks so bad! Service: Hair coloring
