I like this place because they get the basic principles right. Incrementally building weights. Core large muscle group exercise focus. Metabolic conditioning. Macro focused diet. Importance of protein and calorie restriction followed by calorie increase at the right stage. The basics which sometimes are hard to determine or adhere to yourself. Noel, you’re a top bloke. Perfect balance of sergeant major and my mate 😉

I can’t recommend UP enough. I decided to join to get myself back on track with my training and eating as I had gained around 2stone over the last few years due to a busy work schedule and covid. I had previously competed in fitness physique so knew what was required but couldn’t seem to get myself back on track. Tom Picton and the team at UP Manchester have been great, their knowledge is second to none when it comes to training and diet. The whole team make you feel welcome and motivate you to achieve your goals whatever they may be. You genuinely feel part of a team. Tom has pushed me to failure on many occasions which is exactly what I needed and they explain how to create good form during each exercise. I’ve currently lost a stone in 7 weeks and look forward to reaching my goals over the coming weeks. My confidence has improved again and I can see big changes in my physique. I would genuinely recommend Tom and UP for a great experience whilst achieving your goals.

I couldn't recommend UP more. I originally joined for 18 sessions, having had no prior experience in the gym / with weight training. My trainer (Tom Picton) took the time to understand my habits, goals and expectations. He then created a tailored workout and nutrition plan that was challenging but achievable, to help me achieve my goals. He has been encouraging, motivating and always pushes me (comfortably) to my limits in the gym. I renewed my membership for an additional 18 sessions, where I learned how to perfect my form and practice more complex movements. I am continuing to see significant improvements in my strength and physique, and my overall eating habits. The gym itself is very well maintained with state-of-the-art equipment, and the staff and other clients are extremely welcoming, making it a pleasure to work out at UP. Joining UP is without a doubt one of the best decisions I've made for my health and general well-being - nothing compares!

It was hard work, but totally worth it. My trainer Lisa really pushed me and there’s no way I could’ve achieved my goals without her help and support. I went from over 15% in body fat to 10% in 6 weeks which was awesome but really the main thing for me was learning so much in a short space of time and growing so much in confidence!! Ultimate Performance will get you results. Wherever you are on your journey, they will help you transform. It’s no joke but if you’re willing to put in the hard work, you’ll be transformed. Thanks again to Lisa for everything, I’m now excited to put everything I’ve learned into action and continue to grow!

TL;DR: Worth the investment to transform your personal health and fitness through learnings and habits that will last BUT you have to set realistic goals and be ready to put in the work 💪🏼 I have been training with Noel Robertson who has been a brilliant trainer, mentor and teammate throughout my fitness journey. He has pushed me beyond what I thought I could do, has been patient with explaining each aspect (exercise, nutrition, etc.) of the programme in both a scientific and simple manner and has also kept me motivated especially on weeks when I felt weaker or had minimal results. We set 12kg loss as my goal and I have now lost 11kg with 1.5weeks left in my programme. Of course, I had the option to choose to lose more but my goals are multi-pronged. We have stayed true to my focus on setting healthy and sustainable habits while being mindful of the physical (prev injuries) and mental battle that comes with it (body dysmorphia, scale obsession, etc.) So don’t be scared to start - fitness journeys are highly personal and UP will find the best fit for you! There are a lot of concerns on price and how much it cost to train at UP. From my experience, I do believe it is worth the pay. You get expert 1-1 training experience (in and out of the gym), data-driven progress tracking and problem solving all accessible via their app, centre facilities (some machines I've never seen before!) and a results oriented programme made for you. They also provide great payment terms and pricing options (off-peak, etc). Beyond this, if your goal is to transform your life into a healthy one, the price is well worth it as the learnings stay with you beyond the 12 weeks. UP has, hands down, the best educated and the most professional trainers you will ever meet who are dedicated to getting you to where you want to be in your fitness journey. Can’t recommend them enough! UP has made me love working out and living a healthy/active lifestyle again. Thank you, Noel and the rest of the UP team! :)

After failing multiple times in my self-directed fitness journey, I sought help from UP Mcr and all I can think of is I wish I had discovered them earlier. 3 months in and I look and feel better. Pricey but well worth the investment. You are guided not just by your Pt but by the entire team who are approachable and friendly. They were even kind enough to accommodate my special request for a female trainer. Absolutely adore my PT Nelea Pelescan who has made training much more bearable despite of pushing my limits. Highly recommend!
