I decided to join UP as I felt as though I was at last chance saloon with my personal health and fitness. I'd become a menopausal cliche, fifties, fat and frumpy - I just didn't recognise myself when I looked in the mirror. I had no energy and felt as though my get up and go had gone years ago. So after months of procrastination, I took the plunge and joined up. I can't deny I was full of trepidation and worried as I had a history of old back injuries and work out of the country a lot. Could I actually do the exercises? how was I going to manage counting macros when I wasn't cooking for myself? and many other doubts. Then I met my trainer - Paul Goody, quite frankly one of the most professional, knowledgeable, and talented people I've been lucky enough to meet both in my professional and personal life. Through our work together I've achieved more than any fad diet or exercise program I've been on in the last thirty years. It's not just weight loss which he's supported me to achieve but a different mindset. I'm halfway through my fitness journey. I'm never going to be someone who sprints to the finish line, I'm a plodder. But this doesn't matter, at UP no matter what your personal style is, they tailor the program to you and make sure you are supported every step of the way. Paul enables me to succeed, he knows my limits better than I do, he's firm but fair and that's what I like. There's always a positive atmosphere in the gym, all the trainers are friendly and supportive but not intrusive. The gym is a place where transformations happen, it's happening for me & I never thought it would. I've not quite got to where I want to be just yet, but I have no doubt working with Paul and UP I'll get there.

Tired of not being able to fit in clothes and feeling generally fed up I reached out to Ultimate Performance after being inspired by a friends success. Whilst not a deal breaker I was pleased when I was matched to a female PT and even more pleased when my friend told me how good Laura is. Having voiced my dislike of food tracking Laura gave me a more manageable alternative to keep track of my meals. I signed up for 6 weeks, thinking I would see how it goes, just in case I didn't like it and dreaded each upcoming session. I needn't have worried! Laura is so lovely and fun to get along with. Meal plans have been easy to follow, the app is a great tool and the Cheshire gym is friendly and welcoming. Laura is extremely supportive and encouraging and she really cares about her clients. I have achieved great results that I am delighted with, so much that I am signing up for more! Thank you so much Laura B

I’m in my late 50s, hadn’t been to a gym in over twenty years, was touching 15st and my blood pressure was worryingly high even on several medications. I was really anxious about joining a gym because of my poor fitness and weight and it took me some time to finally contact them. I’m so glad I did and only wish I had done so earlier. It has been nothing but a positive experience. Hard work physically but so enjoyable. There is such a positive, happy and encouraging atmosphere about the place both from the trainers and other clients that it is infectious. Everybody seems to want everybody to do well. Trainers who aren’t my trainer know my name and ask how I’m doing and show a genuine interest. Max, my personal trainer, is a great guy to work with. He is aware of my past injuries and has tailored my plan to suit me and is constantly (in a good way) monitoring my technique with the exercises to protect me from further injuries. He has a knack of knowing what my limits are and helping me to reach them and exceed what I thought I could do, and he makes it enjoyable! This isn’t just a gym experience it is also a diet and lifestyle change and the advice and monitoring from Max, and also via the app has really proven useful now and will do for the future. I had mentally planned on it taking me 12 months to lose the weight and get my blood pressure to a healthier level. I’m four months in and my weight is at it’s lowest since my mid 20’s and my blood pressure is down to a level where I can talk to the doctor about coming off medication. I have a little way to reach my initial goal but am enjoying feeling fit and healthy again that I will set a higher goal. Joining UP is a considered purchase, but the health and confidence it has given me back in such a remarkably short timeframe is worth every penny to me.

I was somewhat apprehensive about the whole experience but I’ve really enjoyed the training and getting back into fitness. Max has been great at working around my schedule as I work shifts making it difficult to commit to the same times each week. I’ve seen really good progress and feel much fitter compared to when I started which were my goals. It’s hard work but with the app and regular check ins you feel supported throughout.

I started training at Ultimate Performance Cheshire in January because, now in my early 40’s, I realised I couldn’t just passively carry on life expecting to feel healthy and strong. I was inspired by the results people were getting through UP and was excited to try a different type of training. I have always struggled to keep going to HIIT classes or circuits - I thought it was what I needed to do to lose weight, but I always felt awful afterwards. I am so happy I made the decision to do this! 10 weeks in and I am feeling so much better - my body feels stronger and is moving better, I have lost over 10kg and my shape is changing. My trainer, Laura, is fantastic. She works me hard when I’m training, but more than that, she is an incredible, compassionate support. She set up a personal eating plan for me and has helped tailor that to fit in with my specific needs. She checks in with me, is genuinely invested in me and my progress and takes time out to sit and listen to me (and even been a shoulder to cry on!). I can message her any time and know that she will offer the support I need. One of the biggest things I love is that I come out of training sessions having enjoyed myself! And feeling great! So I don’t find it hard to come back for the next one. This is huge for me as I know I can sustain it long term - I won’t want to stop because this time, I’m enjoying it! Thank you Laura, and the whole team at UP Cheshire for being just what I need to reach my health and fitness goals after a long time of getting it wrong! I won’t look back 😊

I am in week 5 of my journey and I can genuinely say that so far it has exceeded my expectations and I am happy I chose UP Cheshire to train with. Laura my PT is beyond amazing. She works me hard but has such a lovely personality that I can’t complain! Laura is extremely knowledgeable, not only on the physical/technique aspect but on the diet and nutrition. All queries and questions I have are answered promptly and in great detail. Nothing is too much trouble. She makes me feel comfortable and my confidence levels have gone up thanks to her pep talks. I feel great and am so excited about the next few weeks. I already feel like my life style and choices have changed for the better. Thanks to Laura for being so amazing!

I have been training at UP for 6months (slight medical break in the middle). The first day I walked in I was feeling extremely uncomfortable in my body and had no self confidence. I was struggling to leave the house and the thought of my girls’ group chat pinging with a night out talked about sent me into a panic. Max made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked through the door . He explained everything to me and said he’d be there every step of the way. And he definitely has! Having not trained in over 4years I didn’t know how I would be in the gym but Max gave me the confidence to really push myself. I have lost over a stone, dropped 2 dress sizes and am wearing clothes I never thought I would again. I feel I have regained my confidence and don’t dread the group chat ping anymore.🤣 Also the training programme has helped my mental health. Being a stay at home mum with a 3year old can be very isolating but training has given me something to look forward to for myself and has invigorated me. I have so much energy that I can now keep up with my son at soft play!!

I've been training at UP for some time now and thoroughly enjoy it. My trainer, Dan, is great, very supportive and motivational. The training is really enjoyable. There is great camaraderie amongst the team at UP and its really good fun to train there. It's made a huge difference to my health and well being and I feel great - I've tried a lot of different things and the results delivered by UP are by far and away the best I have achieved. I highly recommend it to anyone thinking of giving it at go.
