This organisation was responsible for preventing the demolition of one of Durham's worst eyesores, Dunelm House. Whilst I'm sure they consider that a feather in their cap, in truth they have decided that their subjective aesthetic opinion supersedes the needs and desires of the local area. The end result is the continued existence of a broadly-disliked, inaccessible and impractical building that will now nonetheless have to be maintained at public (given it is owned by a university) expense. Was lobbying for this a good use of charitable funds? I do not think so.
