Do you want a culinary near-religious experience? Then I cannot urge you enough to try the wild mushroom risotto with the wild garlic aioli! (That is unless you are not a hardcore fan of the fungi in which give this a hard pass, as the mushrooms are part of the beautiful duet that forms the core of this dish. Kind of like Cher when she was still with Sonny, which I guess, makes the risotto Sonny. Anyway, I digress!) This dish is perfection itself (I might have heard angels singing with my first bite) and is one of the most profound food experiences of my life! The mushrooms are rich and mysterious with that magical umami flavor while the risotto is creamy and delicately balances the mushrooms in a splendid harmony. Cheese, fresh parsley, and the aioli round out the hearty goodness and will make your tastebuds tap dance with joy. Fast and efficient, the folks here have this down to a science so do be ready with your order because these folks don’t mess around. They are slinging these bowls of risotto out faster than Doc Holliday with his Colt at the OK Corral. So do give this a try! (Plus side bonus, you get to ogle the massive pans they have continuously cooking the stuff which is entertaining all in itself.) Enjoy!

This place is an absolute hidden gem inside the very busy Borough market. We were a little tired walking around the market and wanted to sit down and have a bite, which is somewhat impossible at the Borough market. So glad we spotted Turnips and they were open. We ordered their two course menu along with some cocktails. The dishes look quite small in size, but they somehow are very filling. The representation was 10/10. Everything tasted so yum and interesting. Staff were super lovely and helpful. The cocktails tasted fresh and different. It was an experience we never expected to have inside the busy crowded market. Highly recommended!

An absolutly amazing experience. Yes it’s not cheap, but I didn’t regret a single penny I spent. The food was amazing, the combination of flavors created something totally new. The tasting menu was extraordinary, perfectly balanced and worth to come back. Together with his helpful and friendly team, Tomas made this evening special. Thanks a lot, we will be back.
