I have been with turner road surgery for over 4 years and in that time even during Covid the empathy support and understanding that I have received from all the staff has been outstanding. If it wasn’t for their efficiency and care I would still be waiting for a diagnosis,( support for a pip and blue badge)but they pushed this through which improved my mh and my ability to self care. I cannot thank all the staff, Reception, admin and doctors for their professional support enough.

My wife and I moved to Colchester six weeks ago from London. We were unable to register with the nearest GP surgeries, where we now live, in the New Town area (new patients are not being taken on). We were taken on by Turner Road Surgery, which we noticed has had some pretty poor reviews. Not very encouraging. However, we need access to a GP, so our choice was take it or leave it, despite being on the opposite side of Colchester. I have since had an appointment with one of the GPs’ and a blood test, as well as several telephone conversations with the receptionists. I have to say, that for me personally, the care and service that I received has been outstanding. Last Friday afternoon (April 21st), I had to phone the surgery regarding a query with my medication. I was ‘number 1 in the queue’ and my call was answered by a receptionist within a few minutes. The receptionist was very friendly and displayed a great deal of empathy and she advised me how to order repeat prescriptions. Furthermore, she sent the necessary links to my email address, which I think was going the extra mile. So, in conclusion, thank you Turner Road Surgery. Edward G. Croghan

Awful receptionists So rude When you have a text for an on going urgent issue to book an appointment and the receptionists actually make it impossible to even have a telephone appointment to discuss important results ! Do not join This doctors All they do is brush you off to a&e if somethings wrong and that's even if you can get an appointment in the first place !

The reception is absolutely fantastic, but the rest is very upsetting. For the past year visited this place 6 times, everytime with the differen doctor. Everytime needed to explain all my long story. Super annoying. To have a referral is mission impossible, when I finally had the referral and was waiting someone to contact me - nothing happend for weeks. Last time visited GP he told that referral was declined, and noone even thought to tell me that it was declined. I was waiting and wasting my time in hope that I will see a specialist. Doctors are withouth emphaty, they are absolutely not curious and usually not will to find what really couses the problem. Prescribed me medicine 3 times, considering that I told them it does not work. Why I am paying taxes, I do not know. Doctors here really do not care about patients.

Avoid this place like the plague . Again, hideous treatment by the most disgustingly rude people on earth, the attitudes from staff here is insanely bad. Place is run by complete sociopathic sadists who love it when they can increase your suffering and not help you in any way but pile on more stress and suffering. They should be SACKED and never allowed to work with humans again. One of them is called Ruby, i found out! She should not be allowed near the phones or public.

Just wanted to thank the lovely ladies on reception this week they demonstrated excellent listening skills and empathy despite not being able to offer what I needed, they recognised my frustration( not your fault I was number 44 in the queue and work ) and tried really hard to offer me an alternative. It’s not an easy job and their hard work should be recognised thank you
