I LOVE tag rugby! I started playing two years ago; I was looking for a team sport and was browsing through things in the area when an advert for Tag popped up and it really appealed to me because of the mixed team dynamic. I have been hooked since! It really doesn't matter whether you have any rugby experience at all - I've played in both Manchester leagues and there is a broad range of abilities. You will find your tribe; whether you are competitive by nature or just want a social way to keep fit tag has it all! Since joining I have met loads of amazing people, played in a few of the tag tournaments -the after tournament night out is great- and can honestly say the highlight has been making new friends that I now see outside of Tag. That, and the satisfaction of getting a medal round your neck when you win the league 😜 You've honestly nothing to lose by coming along to a free taster session to see if it's for you. And it is probably worth noting that you get chip butties in the pub after your match. So if that doesn't persuade you then I'm not sure what will.

A great place to enjoy sport and socialising. Fun for seasoned rugby players and a great environment for new starers who want fun exercise and a new sport to play. Our team was a random mix of 12 people at the start and now, one year later, we're all friends who still go for post-match beers

I cannot recommend Try Tag Rugby as a social sport/hobby highly enough. I was taken along to a taster session by a friend two years ago, with no rugby experience and low confidence in team sports, the only thing I brought was nervous enthusiasm. Since then I've joined two leagues, played for a number of teams, won 13 league titles, one tournament title, trained as a ref and represented Manchester and Wigan. It's fair to say I love tag rugby. In addition to these achievements and the confidence its given me in terms of sporting ability, I've also made countless friends and had more mad nights out than you could shake a stick at. Tag is great, you should do it.
