Great place to practice karate! A great bunch of friendly and welcoming people no matter of age or gender! Dawn is an experienced, friendly and enthusiastic instructor, I practiced karate under her for four years (now moved out of the area). She encourages you to get the most out of each session and has greatly improved my fitness and flexibility and I still use a great deal of what I've learned as a base for my other martial arts. Shotokai karate focuses on a more relaxed body style with an emphasis on using distancing, timing and bodyweight as opposed to strength and rigid blocks. This is why it is such a great martial art (you do not need to be strong and athletic to start with). Would greatly recommend trying this unique style if you are considering karate!
