A propper camp site on the banks of the River Wye. Tents & campers only - no caravans. A flat site with good access and plenty of space to camp & Park up. Limited shade though and the wind can whip across the site - so a windbreak is recommended. Cafe opens at 7am and closes at 8pm (sat & sun) with a bottle-bar in the evening (friday & Saturday). Saturday night is Pizza night, cooked on site and very tasty. The bar area has tables and a covered marquee should things turn damp. A 5-minute walk to the New Harp Inn (which has a very basic shop) and other pubs between 35 minutes and an hours walk away - but check their opening times as most shut between 3pm & 7pm. Fire pits and barbecues are permitted in designated areas with wood available to buy on site. Toilets are in the form of portaloo's ( as the site floods in winter) and are incredibly clean - but take loo-roll just in case. Showers - there are no showers on site. It is possible to safely walk to the river (cold) or, take a solar shower with you. We took a 20-litre shower and placed it on the car roof for the day. It (the water) reached 38°C by 5pm which was fine for a warm wash. Canoe hire is available on site together with a minibus / Canoe taxi to either take you upstream and drop your off, or collect you and the Canoe from downstream and bring you back. Strict 10pm noise curfew. Large groups can be accommodated on the provision its organised in advance. A really well organised site which I anticipate will be booked up quickly so be sure to get your reservation in soon.

Fantastic location right next to the river, food available on site (pizzas, burgers etc). The pitches were flat and whilst there were a lot of people on site (May bank holiday weekend) it didn’t feel rammed. There are only portaloos on site, plenty of them but no showers or hot water or sinks for washing pots - so come prepared with a washing up bowl and swimming gear for the river and you’ll be fine! All staff super friendly, very laid back and there was a nice open field for playing games.

Great campsite by a beautiful village and pub. Just a shame no showers for a clean if you fall in the river...but still the cafe was welcoming so that's a great plus. And you can pay for a lift upstream if the river is fast flowing to paddle back. The people that run it are emotionally intelligent where at some sites they can be so controlling its unfair...not here they are great. Thanks love it wish it was closer to my home.

Too expensive for what it is plus you get charged for launching even if you're staying. We also were over charged by the assuming guy who runs the site. Avoid unless you have to go here to launch. Service : 1/5 … More
