Have played this course on and off for over 20 years. Played it today and it was in terrible condition - probably the worst of the 100s of courses I've played. Greens long and scruffy, 4 inch long grass on tees, loads of grass cuttings everywhere for balls to get lost in or under, no first cut of rough so balls being lost just 3ft off fairway. Round was cheap but my advice would be pay more and go somewhere else. Photos show fairway and a tee box.

It's a lovely setting. However the golf course is far from lovely. Played about 5 weeks ago and it was clear that very limited work had been possible following the wet March. However, 5 weeks later and the situation has barely changed. Greens were generally OK (but all need trimming). Fairways ok. But the rough is appalling. Even if your ball lands a short distance off the fairway there is a good chance of a lost ball. Apparently there are only two groundsmen (we are told 5 is a bare minimum for an 18 hole course). The management should be ashamed that they have allowed the course to get into such a state and they are continuing to charge to play on this excuse for a course. Shame on you. Get your finger out, invest more and get this course back on track.

Waste of time. Nothing has been mowed, buggies were not allowed on the course despite being bone dry, tees with long grass on them. Better pay a bit more and have a proper course to play on. Not even worth the cheap rate.

The coaching staff are friendly and I’ve had some good lessons. I’m giving 2 stars for the set up of the driving range. Today is the third time I’ve been when they have run out of balls in the machine so another wasted trip. There are very few distance markers, which are essential if you want to know your club distance. The cost is the same as the A1 practice range but the A1 range has computer aids and distance markers. I do not understand why, at minimal cost, they can’t at least have adequate range distance markers here.

Fairways water logged and rough far too long. Grass clippings for fairway/ light rough not picked up so difficult to find the ball a lot of the time. Not worth the green fee, better courses around.

The course was saturated, and about half the fairways were unplayable as the grass hadn't been cut. It was basically all rough and impossible to find your ball even if you drove it dead straight. It looks like it might be a v nice course when properly maintained, but really they should just close it in the winter and spring.

Don't even bother playing if it's been raining. Everything is water logged, grass on the fairways is not cut. You will have to search for your ball after every shot. Just go somewhere else until we get good weather and the course dries out.

Nice course, but today the ground was very wet and compounded with the fact that fairways were not mowed with 3 inch high grass made for many lost balls and difficulty playing a fairway shot out of what was essentially the rough. Gave up after 3 holes and got a credit.
