Had a few days away with The Girls, the Travelodge on Piccadilly was very Central and really easy to find. The staff were always very helpful especially the people on Reception. You get what you pay for at the end of the day! It's a travel lodge! We did however encounter an issue when we got to our room. Check-in was very pleasant, a lovely man on reception who was friendly and informative. Sadly when we opened our door to our room we were greeted by the smell of cigarettes, so bad it was as if someone had just lit up 10 mins before we arrived... there was also a large pile of sick on the carpet by the desk... not ideal. After speaking to the man on reception again, he kindly sorted us another room with no issues and was very apologetic and shocked when we told him. If it wasn't for him we'd not have stayed and our trip would have been ruined. We did also leave our bags just after we checked out so we could explore bag-free, the girl we spoke to was helpful and friendly, but her face said otherwise. She seemed like she couldn't be bothered. There were also homeless people camping outside the doors when we arrived which was sad to see and a bit off putting...

Ruined our holiday! Went here to see York ended up spending a day telling them how filthy the rooms was. Only had a refund for the one night we stopped there and lost over £300. The “breakfast package” is a scam it’s only a small thing of pre packaged foods. Staff blamed the terrible rooms and lack of cleanliness to the hotel being “tired”. Just try and stop in a B&B and save yourself the headache we endured. Rooms was terrible, dried sick on the floor, filthy bedding. Told staff about this they moved us to the “nicer” room which had clearly had a dog in it and caused breathing issues with my other half. Save the trouble and go somewhere else.
