    Really nice Travelodge. The room was alright, had one which overlooked the main road. Surprisingly, you couldn't hear anything from the outside. Shwer room was compact, no lock on the door though. Was expected to use the Travelodge Key app, which meant I used my phone to open room door, only failed once but was easy to resolve. Breakfast was good, plenty of food being brought out when busy, all the usual selection of hot and cold breakfasts, along with teas, coffees, and juice. Great central location and car park opposite reasonable for a 2 night stay. Would definitely use this one again if in the area.

    Very nice new hotel in the heart of the city. Even has aircon and triple glazing which Travelodge don't normally. I've been using it ever since it opened except when they went mad with prices for a while, so always check the competition. I have even tried the plus rooms occasionally but they are not normally worth the extra, the rooms aren't bigger, just a few niceties included, the main one being the coffee machine. One year after opening the hotel is beginning to suffer, shower valves are damaged and air conditioner filters blocked. A recent change here is the reduced staffing, so you have to use a new app to check-in and then can either use your phone as a room key or get a real one from a machine in the lobby.

    Great location,room comfortable and clean,good air conditioning,staff friendly,especially one Portuguese woman -housekeeper. The issue is they don’t have microwave,toilet brush and wardrobe. Walkability: Short distance walk to St.Albans central

    Arrived to find the cafe bar undergoing renovation and no breakfast available. Very combative staff arguing that it was clearly stated on the website (if you go out of your way to scroll down, which most people wouldn't) - quite obvious that we are not the first to complain. Also very clearly a surprise to everyone else checking in as well. Did not stay. We needed breakfast. Sure it's in the centre of St Albans, but we wouldn't be able to find any elsewhere at 7am on a bank holiday. For future reference, the Premier Inn nearby accepts walk-ins from non-guests, but we didn't know that at the time. Staff on-site would not give refund but suggested to email the manager, who has not had the courtesy to respond.
