The site manager for both M4 Reading Westbound and Eastbound called me up a few days after my last visit to one of these properties to blast me for filling out company pushed feedback with issues I faced during my stays there. He stated that I was coming to the properties (with my family!) simply to provide negative reviews and he will ban me from the site. It didn't matter to him if the bathrooms ran out of shower gel in the middle of a shower or if bulbs in the room were flickering or if a receptionist refused to believe there was no fan in the room and asked us to walk 300ft back to the room to check and come back rather than take us on face value. In his words 'They work really hard ' and don't want customers that report issues. Apparently one must pay £80 to £140 a night on weekdays at times for their wages to be paid out of and yet according to manager have no right to fault their 'hard work' in the surveys pushed out by corporate as they won't change anything there. The best part is that customer service wrote back that they cannot interfere with the Manager's whims as he suspects I am 'possibly working for another hotel chain'( while staying ther with my family!!!!) So basically someone who has spent £1000s recently with the company to use it's services doesn't even deserve the courtesy of an response or a phone call from senior management.

Inexpensive, great value but no frills. Useful range of food and goods available in the adjacent motorway services.

Travelodge hotels generally need a bit of an upgrade as they feel a little 'tired' but this is the first time I've stayed in one where I've felt grossed out and uncomfortable. The floor was, quite frankly, disgusting. It was faded, worn in places, unpleasant stains and damp. The dirty laundry stored in the open near to the entrance just added to the overall feel of nastiness.

Stayed at this hotel 10/11 May and will never stay here again. The receptionist checked us in and that was the last time we had any contact with reception staff. We were allocated room 110 which is an accessible room on the ground floor. The door in the corridor outside the room opens the wrong way so that when the door to room 110 is opened, it makes it very difficult to get the wheelchair into the room. Once in the room, the carpet was not the usual 'Travelodge blue' colour but rather a filthy shade of pink/ orange/ grey- brown. It looks like it had been shampooed with bleach and was disgusting. There is black scuff marks along the bottom of the dressing table and coffee stains on the net curtain. When we arrived the heating was full in the room so we turned the radiator off. There was no fan in this room so it stayed hot the whole time even with the window open, which was noisy due to being located next to the entrance. The bathroom was no better with only one bath towel and a hand towel, which meant my friend and I had to share. Behind the toilet had not been cleaned in a long time and was filthy. The plughole in the basin and bath were grimy with black mould. on the path adjoining the two Travelodge buildings were 8 or 9 cages full of dirty used bedlinen, which were there when were arrived and still there when we departed the following morning. it was clear that they had been there for several days if not longer. This hotel is in a bad state of repair and a refurbishment is much needed.

The location is good to get out of the London prices. And I'm sure many have had better stays than I did. I stayed in room 126 which is the disabled room (I am not) it's the first one in the building block of rooms. This ment that whenever anyone left I heard them dragging suitcases down corridor. And when the door to the block shut it's slammed and rattled by room door. Was kept up most of the early hours. The positives: Bed was comfortable. Room was spacious, toilet was big of obvious reasons. But my shower only have 40 seconds of hot water then was cold. And the handle on the tap kept coming off. This won't come as a surprise review to travelodge as complained in email after stay.

Rooms: Carpets and decor dated, Food & drinks: Food and drink only available in services and are expensive, no discount for staying at the travelodge available. The staff use robots to clean the rooms and corridors but it would be better done manually with a vacuum cleaner.
