Rang the council at 10 to 5 on a weekday, and receive a message the office is closed, whereas it says the office closes at 5pm on weekdays? Poor service.

Just more than doubled my council tax bill with no notice. I’ve applied since for the single occupant discount again… I’ve been waiting for over a month and changing for a response but they still keep taking more than double. It’s a one bed apartment yet I’m currently paying more than my parents do for the two bed which the two of them occupy! Absolutely useless!!!

The most slowest council in licensing, they should get some training from wolverhampton council.

Business rates team sent a claim for an entire year's worth of business rates, that had been incorrectly calculated, to an enforcement officer. Neither the council, nor the enforcement company provided any of the legally required notices. They just turned up and took payment, which they were happy to take from another entity. I complained to the council, and they couldn't even be bothered to respond. Now the other entity is preparing legal action against them.

Probably the worst council in the UK. Slow to do anything, don't sort out problems yet charge a fortune then don't provide a service. The clean air zone sums them up entirely.
