I would not use this cattery again based on overall first impressions. I was not allowed to view in person before booking and was only offered a virtual tour. On the day of arrival I was met by 3 young girls who didn't seem professional or prepared. I was not asked if I had deflead my cat and I was not allowed to settle my cat in his chalet with COVID given as the excuse. As restrictions have lifted elsewhere in the country, it seems a rather lame excuse, particularly given that the mesh partitions allow plenty of fresh air in. I would have been prepared to wear a mask or gloves if asked but this doesn't appear to be an option. The chalet was not prepared for his arrival with no water, food or a blanket / bed laid down for him. I saw another cat with empty bowls, pointed this out and was told that he had just been dropped off. I was encouraged to leave fairly quickly before seeing if my cat received these things which left me worrying they may forget for awhile. They need to understand cats come from a variety of backgrounds, not all happy. Our cat was adopted by us 1 year ago at 11 months old rom OAS having been returned there twice by previous owners. I was very nervous returning him to a similar environment where he may feel abandoned and it was very important to me to have time to settle him in. This cattery seriously needs to move with the times. Most other catteries now open on Sundays for drop offs and collections but not here where you are forced to pay the extra day and our cat had to spend another day there despite us being home again. I collected him at 9am on Monday but was charged the extra day and when I questioned this, I was told to refer to the website which I did not find to be overly clear. I have since found another cattery near Didcot which is £3 a day cheaper, allows you to collect on Sundays and if you collect early enough, you are not charged for that day. Our cat also returned home ravenous and while this was possibly because he was too upset to eat, I was left wondering if he had received any breakfast. I have used many catteries in my time (Portway in Ardley are excellent but sadly a bit far) and this one I found lacking in quite a few vital areas.

Had two good experiences with this cattery now. Cat came home a little skinny, but clean and looked okay.
