FAQ

What is your process for referring clients to attorneys?

At Town & Country Law, we have a network of experienced estate planning attorneys who specialize in various areas. We carefully match our clients with the attorney who can best meet their needs based on their location, budget, and specific legal issue. Our process involves an initial consultation with the client to understand their needs and goals, and then we make a referral to an attorney who we believe can best assist them.

How much experience do your attorneys have in estate planning?

Our attorneys have extensive experience in estate planning, with many of them having practiced in this area of law for over a decade. We carefully vet all of our attorneys to ensure that they have the necessary expertise and knowledge to provide our clients with the highest level of service.

How do you charge for your services, and what is the estimated cost?

Our referral services are free of charge to clients. Clients will only be required to pay for the services of the attorney they are referred to. The cost of an estate planning attorney can vary depending on the complexity of the legal issue, the attorney's level of experience, and the location of the client. However, we can provide clients with an estimated cost once we understand their specific needs and goals.

What is your process for updating or making changes to an existing estate plan?

We understand that estate plans may need to be updated or changed over time due to changes in personal circumstances or changes in the law. We recommend that clients review their estate plan every few years or when a major life event occurs. If a client needs to make changes to their estate plan, we can refer them to an attorney who can assist them with the process. The attorney will work with the client to understand their needs and goals and make the necessary changes to the estate plan.

Can you provide references or client testimonials of successful attorney matches?

Yes, we can provide references or client testimonials upon request. We have a track record of successfully matching clients with experienced estate planning attorneys who have helped them achieve their legal goals. We are proud of the relationships we have built with our clients and the positive feedback we have received from them.

I used the services of T&C for putting in place a long overdue Will for myself, and at the same time sorting my LPA (Lasting Power of Attorney) documentation. It was a straightforward, pleasant service from start to finish. A chap called James was particularly helpful when I wanted some reassurance on a couple of elements related to my set-up. I would happily recommend their service. In fact, my partner will also be using them for her Will and LPA.

Avoid like the plague. We had an appointment at our home with a T&C representative at end of January 2023. Agreed two wills and Last POA. We were promised that the lead time was 6 to 8 weeks. We're now 16 weeks and counting and have made weekly calls for the last four weeks. Always the same answer - will be sent out by end of the week as a matter of urgency. The POA's were allegedly posted on the 14 April 23 Recorded Delivery but "our records show that Royal Mail failed to Deliver" them. My wife works closely with Royal Mail as part of her job and laughed her socks off at this. It's very hard not to feel that we may have been scammed.

We experienced some delays in obtaining the final documents but this was resolved swiftly and to our satisfaction once James, the Director became involved.

Go elsewhere for a will . They soon come to your home and write it up . Charging you in 3 instalments so then all paid up .. then everything is by email . That you don’t get or miss. You contact them asking what’s happened to my will? Oh we emailed you !! Not into emails just simple telephone calls or letters in the post !! A year on nearly and our joint will as husband and wife is not completed. I could be dead before my will is totally finalised !! Rang Phil who took our instruction and came to our home all smiles . His reply was all you need is to sign it - it’s self explanatory … !! My reply not to me it’s not . This is one of the most if not the most important thing you will ever do and sign . Your will . Feel like going to Martin Lewis or a proper solicitors .. do not go to town and country , go local , go to a office - just go elsewhere !!
