  I recently bought a performance vehicle and was looking for someone I could trust to teach me how to get the best out of it. When I found Ivan's website I downloaded his free guide and to be fair, the information in that blew me away. It was immediately clear that he is a guy with immense skill and attention to detail so I booked onto a 2 day course at Millbrook. Day one was spent part in the classroom and the rest on track learning to take corners without braking using road position and introducing concepts such as weight transfer and turn-in points. Day 2 was all about improving vision on the embanked ring and more cornering and braking. The training taught me that driving is an art and that everyone with a high performance car (if not any car) should take this kind of course for the safety of themselves and the people that travel with them. I'm now looking forward to the next time I get out there with him (he's a thoroughly decent chap too with a lot of interesting stories to tell).

  A day spent with Ivan at Millbrook can't be recommended highly enough. Ivan is very personable and puts you at ease immediately. My confidence to drive quickly and safely has improved vastly. To understand your car and improve on your driving skills, all done in a safe place and within your own limits can only be a winner. Total Car Control = FANTASTIC!

  I recently spent 3 amazing days with Ivan undertaking the Total Car Control master class course at Millbrook and then onto the B roads around Cambridge. I will start by saying I had never done a single driving course or track day prior to coming on this but wanted to have a better understanding and ultimately learning to control some of my new cars huge amount of power and torque. Having never really owned a powerful car in the past I wanted to ensure I did the responsible thing and took some professional tuition but I also knew I wouldn’t be happy driving around a track for a few laps in someone else’s car on a “Track Day” experience package so a google search lead me to Ivan and Total Car Control. I highly recommend this course to anyone from complete novice and beginner like myself or if you are looking to improve your already impressive Nürburg lap times by a couple of 100s of a second this is the course for you. Ivan was fantastic and extremely patient with me and ensure I was pushed outside my comfort zone but not to the point I couldn’t handle it. Millbrook was amazing and I pretty much had all 700 arches to myself and despite the weather saw myself improving each day and confidence building with each lap or exercise. I pretty much had zero ego or delusions that I was a good driver prior top this course but it did show my how much I really didn’t know and that made the course so much more rewarding and learning the correct way to drive, taking corners, braking points, weight transfer and how the car felt and reacted in under and over steer situations. The one thing I was a little unsure about was the 1 day driving on the B roads, I didn’t think it would be very useful and thought it would be better to have the day at Millbrook but I was very wrong. Taking what we had done for the previous two days and then transferring that to “real world driving” was extremely beneficial to me and gave me a much greater road sense and car positioning along with improving my decision making by using all the information from around me. Overall I was blown away by this course, like I sad at the beginning I was a complete novice and just a normal guy having never done anything like this before and I cannot recommend this course enough. Ivan was fantastic and completely down to earth and talked to me in ways I understood what he was saying so I could apply it. Its 5 Stars from me.

  I've done a few track days before taking a course with Ivan, and didn't have a great idea on what in particular I need to work on to improve my driving and speed. The 2 day performance driving course with Ivan gave me everything i wanted, and more. now I have it pretty much figured out what goes into a perfect lap. and where my skill level is at in all the aspects of it. This understanding itself is great, but I've learned new skills and improved my driving right there at Millbrook. And Ivan's caching is very good. I think it's pretty essential course for most performance car drivers to keep your car on the road, and be safe, relaxed and confident behind the wheel

  I'd like to start by saying your course is AMAZING! Way, way beyond my expectations, I can't believe how my reading of the road has improved and what I can do with my car now :) When my friend and I first booked the course I was a little disappointed when I read the email saying I was going to be with Ivan's 'wingman' Rob. I had in the back of my head that my friend was going to be getting a better deal. I was very, very wrong! Rob is an absolute legend of a man, he has incredible teaching ability, driving ability, is very funny and easy to get along with, at absolutely no point was I disappointed, he's clearly a professional and very experienced. After our initial thrash around the Outer Handling Ring Rob tore me down and built me up with the layers one at a time before helping me tie it all together. He pushed me to my limit every day as I'd asked for, without ever going too far. Day one alone was amazing, I learnt so much especially about car control and the limits of my car which was the main thing I joined for. At the end of day one, mentally exhausted, we did a lap around the Alpine Circuit which left me thinking, 'Wow this is a whole new level compared to the Outer Handling Ring, I'm never going to be able to drive this quickly. I was wrong... The next day after a few laps around the Outer Handling Ring to go over the previous days learnings we were straight into the Alpine Circuit where Rob built me up and up until I was carrying a pace around there far, far quicker than I ever imagined possible. My favourite bit was consistently getting the car airborne over the hump every lap, very satisfying! The third day on the road was uniquely beneficial and something that you can't teach on track. Here Rob helped me really improve my vision and tie all the techniques together to complete the package. Whilst at much lower speeds than at Milbrook this helps you transition your new driving style safely to the road. I would definitely recommend doing a day on the road, no matter how good you think you are, you will be considerably better after this. Safer and faster with less effort. If you're reading this you're obviously keen to improve your driving, so don't hesitate, just get it booked!

  I cannot recommend the courses offered by Ivan at Total Car Control enough. The content covered during my 3 day Total Control Masterclass was intense but delivered extremely well and professionally as well as being tailored to suit my ability. What I hoped to take away from the course was to improve my confidence whilst making me a safer, smoother and better driver. I will definitely be booking again in 2022.

  I recently completed a 2-day masterclass course with Ivan. Having invested in a powerful car last year, I felt like I ought to learn how to get the most out of it safely, whilst still being able to enjoy it to the fullest extent for the main reason I bought it - to go quickly. Ivan is an extremely professional instructor with a wealth of experience and passion for what he does. Even though I opted for the 2 day course, his tuition and insight have helped me elevate my driving to another level. I no longer feel intimidated by my car and can enjoy it in safety using the concepts introduced to me on the course. I cannot recommend Total Car Control enough, if you have any interest in driving and own a car that you feel you're not getting the most out of, book a course, you won't regret it!

  To find Total car control it start with a simple google search. I bought a new powerful car and wanted to control the car better and safely and found Ivans website. Gave them a call and booked 3 days driving mentoring. I went into these 3 days not really knowing what to expect with no knowledge of the company apart from the glowing reviews on google. I thought after 3 days I would know it all, but what ovan has shown me is a true way of driving with pace and completely safe (pretty much safer than most road users!) If you are reading this review I urge you to take this course, in all my limited driving these are the best 3 days I have had bar none. (none other comes even close!) I use the road with a completely different outlook to before i started and how my driving has changed is just immense. Words cant describe how good it feels and you will only truly understand how good this course is by booking it. It was so good I will be attending more, and it has given me a bug to get on track ( One of the tracks at millbrook i could have stayed on all day long as its so noticable how much your driving improves after the foundations are laid. I feel like I have tapped into a bit more of my cars potential as well, It also made me realise how talented these guys and professional drivers are. Dont wait, book it.

  Spent an incredible and unforgettable couple of days with Ivan that have left me a much more confident and competent driver at speed as well as in general. I had a long list of things to cover, including balance, trail braking, cornering and skid control, but also learnt that none of it mattered unless the most important technique was practiced - vision. The course left me with skills that could be developed on my own on public roads (safely) and I now feel - critically - much more in control.

  Amazing amount of very useful (new to me) theory and techniques presented and then put in to practice while in the car, with excellent real time commentary from Ivan to improve my driving, resulting in a lovely stable safe feeling smooth (fast) ride. A far far better way of driving, than what I have been used to for the last 30 years!! Once I have practiced a lot more, matching speed to vision, and got happy with, and actually can go fast enough to need braking to steer! I’ll re-book for the next step. Cheers Ivan! Fab 3 Days
