Renault Captur 1.5dci purchased from this dealership in Dec2021 with 39,000miles recorded. In March 2022 when looking through the handbook, noticed that Renault advise camshaft drive belt change at 70000mileas or SIX years (which ever comes first) , this was a late 2015 vehicle and was therefore outside those conditions at the time of purchase. contacted Tones who responded that this was only a recommendation from Renault and when customers ask for it under these conditions, they are prepared to pay half!. they put me through to service to enquire about the price, Service said " I understand you are paying half"-obviously brought up to speed by sales. They then quoted £704 for a cam drive kit fitted to my vehicle . . This was obviously an inflated price to cover their costs, as enquiries at other Renault main dealers all indicated around the £399 mark for the same job. Hardly contributing 50% then and also very poor sales tactics for a Renault main dealer. So be very aware of sales tactics from this firm and double check vehicle requirements before agreeing any deal with them.

I consider myself quite picky and have an eye for details so when coming to purchasing a car can be a fairly demanding customer. Jack who I dealt with was patient and went to great lengths to make sure the car was to my spec with regards to servicing history etc and the business owner spoke with me too and was a nice chap. I was happy with the overall deal and the car and have only had it a few days so nothing to report problem wise but feel satisfied that Tones would be happy to help should I need it. I have dealt with a lot of garages over the years and this one came across great and have sorted everything asked of them. Would certainly have paid more at a Skoda dealer for the same car and from experience that would have not been the best move. Can happily recommend you check here for your next motor or for a price on your second hand one which was also competitive in my case.
