We have been lucky to be introduced to Anita when looking for a music teacher, as our first experience wasn’t great. After a whole year we have not seen any progress with either of our girls. This has all changed after starting lessons with Anita. She is very competent in her field and able to deliver her teaching in more modern, engaging, interacting and interesting way for the girls. Our girls spend 2.5 hours weekly with her, they go very fast and we notice how fun it is for them in addition of the actual learning. Anita goes the extra mile with her tutoring, she is always responding to the girls questions during the week while doing their work – this is out of their session time -, she always happy to answer other topics and help with such as their school education as well for engaging in conversions about general topics they wanted to talk about. We highly recommend Anita and we have asked the girls to write their own reviews in addition to ours. Elf on the piano: (14 years) I do piano and music theory with Anita and I’m making progress much more efficiently than with my last teacher, with whom I felt unsure to ask questions and could not read music other than the letters he would write. However with Anita I feel engaged with music: I have been able to make constant progress, reading and playing music far more confidently than I did before, enjoying the pieces and even going to school bands. It feels easy to ask question about what I am doing. With Anita I started doing music theory very successfully and this gained my interest in how music works as a science, the history, and how to compose. This inspired me to take music GCSE and I am thoroughly enjoying all parts of the course because of the widespread teaching of both music theory and playing piano that Anita has taught me. After 6 years with her I am now preparing for Grade 8 music theory and Grade 5 Piano. Thank you! Cool Banana: (12 years) I do piano, violin, theory and occasionally singing with Anita. As well as making much more progress than I did with my old teacher I have fun during the lessons. Previously I didn’t experience a very good teaching methods and I learnt to play piano with numbers as fingers to represent notes, I never actually understood which note was which on the piano. With Anita I have found that I enjoy music and feel I can engage with her much more and ask questions without hesitation. She explains the answer very well and I understand it much easier after she has explained. I feel much more confident when playing the piano and violin, I can hear the progress and development when playing both instruments. During theory I learn how to do music theory, this helps me with playing music as I understand how it actually works and I am able to recognise things that I have learnt in theory when sight-reading a piece, or when playing I can notice by ear. I am able to express through singing and can sing with emotion. After 6 years with Anita I have been able to reach and prepare for grade 4 piano, grade 3 violin, grade 6 theory and grade 2 singing. Anita has taught my son music over the past 6 years. The fact that he has managed to work his way up to Grade 7 Theory, Grade 6 Piano and Singing, having started from scratch, is a testament to the quality of teaching Anita consistently provides. All of this would not be possible if my son did not enjoy his lessons, which he certainly does. He often tells me how he appreciates the clarity of what is being taught, but also the fact that he can converse with Anita about a wide range of subjects. Most importantly, Anita is a warm and supporting individual, always seeking to provide a fun learning atmosphere. Considering all of this, I cannot recommend Tofts Tutors enough.

Anita has been teaching music theory to my 12 year old daughter for over a year . Anita is an outstanding teacher ,can converse concisely with my daughter and keep her thoroughly engaged .She enjoys and looks forward to her lessons , I can highly recommend Tofts tutors .
