We came here for my husbands breakfast. Sat down at 10, waited for 12 mins wondering if our order would be taken, as the woman was just shuffling around moving bags and items and we were the only two people there. After 13 mins we asked if we could place our order, and she told us we had to go up to the till to order. (We only wish she could’ve let us know that before because we were sitting there so awkward and hungry!). food was very nice. We got the ten-don (vegetable tempura donburi) which was a daily special, the mackerel mayo lunch set, an ebi mayo onigiri, some genmaicha tea and an orange drink. Tempura don was nice, tempura batter was light, but it would’ve been nicer with some sauce to dip or pour, like a sweet shoyu type sauce. Onigiri was nice, not a lot of filling, but I just really like the handmade ones, and it was nice and warm. Mackerel mayo set was nice, quite a small portion, and there was no mayo, but altogether worked nicely. The pricing here is reasonable and fair, view is nice. I would go again, now I know that I have to order at the till after figuring it out. I want to try more onigiri and some more specials. The only think that could improve would be service with a smile/energy. Maybe the lady was having a hard day. Either way, we like it and will return.

There's very few places in London I'd call unique and yet here we are. Unpretentious and modest (though the clientele is mostly middle class mums), they have (or had) a lunch special that's usually quite banging - I've had tofu & pork but check their Instagram for what's on that day. If you're going for a hot drink get a black sesame latte, it's so nice! It's a kids friendly cafe so at the weekend it's hell/heaven depending on whether you have little ones of your own, so keep that in mind.

Food, drink, desserts all were amazing. Beautiful location and decor contribute to the authentic Japanese feel of the cafe. The udon and cold soba were perfect and a great value price for all their items. The homemade ice cream was amazing as well. Great place to relax and enjoy really good food for a good price. Will definitely be coming back

Direction on how to get to Toconoco: from Hertford St, look for number 18 and 20 Norway Wharf (photo attached), big signs in white so you won't miss it. Just after the surgery sign. Push the gate on the right (highlighted in red in the attached pic), which is generally open and walk all the way down to the canal and you will see #Toconoco on your left. Food and drinks are nice but the service can be a bit slow. The cafe also seems to have some damps on the ceiling to the right of the toilets. Ceilings are high so not a problem but the spots are all noticeable. Amazing spot for a sunny summer day to enjoy some light food and drinks.
