Go here if you want to get your home infested with dry rot! We took photos of the fireplace in question. We took them to Morris McGinn in Dawlish and they advised us that it was definitely dry rot, that there was no cure and that we must get it out of our house immediately. We viewed the fireplace before buying, yes, but it was secured to the wall making it impossible to view the back (where the dry rot was to be found). We trusted that you, as a 'dealer' would have recognised something as serious as dry rot and wouldn't be selling something that could seriously damage someone's home. When we asked you collect the item and asked for a full refund, you were extremely unpleasant and abusive and told us to never come back to your shop again. We were simply expecting you to collect it, give a full refund and maybe even an apology for putting our property at risk! Update: You never refunded the original delivery costs saying that you were not prepared to take the hit as it was a third party delivery company that you used (although it was ok for us to lose our money apparently). It was this request for a full refund, including delivery, that seemed to send your mood right over the edge. In addition, dry rot is not curable and infected wood must be cut out. You must have been left with a very short fire place indeed, if you had done the renovation properly I pity the person who unwittingly bought your 'renovation' if you believe that there is a product that cures dry rot.
