On a very rare visit North of the country, my partner, son and I stopped into this Toby Carvery for dinner. Although all staff were fantastic and very friendly (the impression to customers is that the staff get on well with each other), I feel absolutely obliged to single out one outstanding member of staff; Emily behind the bar. An incredibly attentive, positive, friendly and exceptionally hard working individual. This lady had regular customer's drinks prepared before they even requested one, she went above and beyond to be playful with our very chatty 15month old child whilst also carrying out her other tasks and never left a customer unattended. Emily even got the baby change door key ready, even though she wasn't certain we'd even need it. We never once saw Emily slack for even a moment. I sincerely hope she is valued correctly by branch management for the customer service she is delivering.

Usual pleasant greeting from staff member even tho it was very busy and the only thing wrong on this occasion was the beef which we were told was medium rare (which we love ) but when we got to the table and started to eat it was just lots of fat with a bit of beef in between and I know we had the choice of meats but the chef should maybe not have served it but it won’t put us off from returning as normally everything is perfect (unlike when we visited the Wakefield Denby Dale road site a few weeks ago!
