    Toast Lettings are honestly the absolute best short term letting agent I've found. Since moving back to the UK from Germany I have struggled to find decent airbnbs while I look for a house, I've tried many lol - and I keep coming back to Toast because the accommodation they provide is amazing. Always super clean, their staff are incredibly helpful, all of their properties are beautiful, and the whole experience is wonderful and effortless. Can't recommend them highly enough! Rebecca

    Do not use this company. Their houses/apartments are advertised as holiday homes, when in reality they are used to house council list tenants on behalf of Durham County Council - read previous reviews as this is correct. You shouldn’t be allowed to advertise your properties as “holiday homes” when they are in fact the opposite. Your council tenants leave a mess behind and then move on without a care in the world, and nobody tidies up after them.

    Stayed at an awesome property in the heart of Durham City. Beautifully maintained with everything we could possibly want from our stay. It was a last minute booking and nothing was too much trouble for the Toast team - fantastic service all round! Will use again on our next visit back to England.

    I had to use Toast lettings for a booking for a holiday let through booking.com. I must admit I had to chase them for communication regarding the access to a key for the property. I actually had to contact Booking.com to find out what happened if no one met me at the property or we didn't receive contact from Toast as they hadn't responded to my voicemails or emails. Whilst there I sent them an email regarding damage we noticed as we moved in for our 3 day stay so that we weren't charged for it and to notify them that the lift wasn't working and neither was the DVD player.Our stay was at the beginning of June and I still haven't received any response form them at all which is why my rating is lower than it might have been had they contacted me to discuss the issues. The apartment was superb but the communication with Toast let it down .

    I’ve read some of the other reviews about Toast Lettings and no way do they reflect the very good service we received. We were a party of five and due to stay in an apartment that could accommodate us all. I received an email the day before advising that there’d been a leak so we couldn’t stay there. We were offered alternative accommodation which consisted of two apartments in the same property at no extra cost in Gilesgate. Both apartments were beautifully furnished, well kitted out and very comfortable. We would definitely use Toast Lettings again. Date of stay was the weekend of 20 May 2022.

    You are utilising a ‘holiday rental’ to house individuals on behalf of Durham County Council. Resulting in incidents of anti-social behaviour and domestic violence at the address. The Police have attended on several occasions. No where on your website does it mention this. In fact your own rules contradict this. If being arrested for domestic violence or sitting out of the front of the property consuming alcohol ( in a large group), is a “Holiday Let,” perhaps you should consider a name change.

    Have used this company a few times and have spent almost 4k with them. Pretty POOR! Washing machines don't work, bookings cancelled at the last minute leaving us stranded! No communication and some places left filthy where we've had to clean them, staff standing outside waiting for us to pack and leave. Total dogsh!t!

    Booked accommodation a few weeks before our trip but before we travelled the Government announced Covid restrictions for the area which meant we were not allowed to stay. Toast refused a refund despite only making the booking less than 2 weeks before the date of the stay & kept giving contradicting information in their emails. We had numerous booked holidays cancelled due to Covid restrictions and I am so grateful these other companies were more professional and followed the Government guidelines by arranging refunds. These companies will certainly get further bookings from us - unlike Toast Lettings who we will never use again or even recommend.
