If I could leave no stars I would. This company do not even warrent 1 star... Ive just phoned this company to get a quote for truck hire & I spoke to a very rude stroppy arrogant man.... I reminded him I was a new customer & not to have that attitude & he said "well the other phones ringing, Ive already told you the price"!! Cheaky B*****D!! WELL MATE YOUV'E JUST LOST YOURSELF A NEW CUSTOMER....IF YOU CAN AFFORD TO LOOSE CUSTOM DUE TO YOUR SH1TY ATTITUDE THEN GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬

If you want to know what pleasant courteous customer service is like then stay away from TJ Selfdrive! The man we dealt with (I presume "TJ ") was rude, condescending, arrogant, sarcastic......there are so many words to describe him, none of them good! I think we were in shock when we left, astonished at how someone can survive in business when he treats his customers like something he has stepped in. He left the "office" at one stage and we followed only for him to tell us off for leaving the door open! As for the van, sure it was a little cheaper than elsewhere but it was disgusting, filthy inside and out, and not just from the previous hirer, it hadn't been cleaned inside for some time. There was a cigarette burn hole in the rammy driver's seat (aren't cigarettes banned inside the vehicle?) The outside was battered and bruised with trim missing (I wonder how many people have been charged for that piece of trim?). The roller shutter rear door kept jamming. There was also a gaping hole in the floor in the load area. In summary, go somewhere else, to someone who has mastered the use of words such as "please" and "thank you" or even just "hello".

If you’re unfortunately late to drop off their old, knackered vehicles because of traffic, the old grumpy owner will come to your HOME, BANG on all of your windows, KICK your front doors, and try to intimate kids/pregnant women. Wish we’d read the reviews as seems like this disgusting behaviour is common. Unreal.

Filled van with diesel until it clicked and then more at Sainsbury’s just round corner. Bloke wouldn’t have it and got nasty, started pointing fingers and saying you customers try to get away with xyz (when I hadn't and wasn't), dragged to a petrol station where took less than 3 quid then he pulled the nozzle up until it spilled over my trousers and shoes (which stank of diesel after); probably about a few quids worth. Going by the age and state of the van (8 years old - most companies replace every 3 years and they're no real cheaper than anywhere else; just convenient), something else other reviews mention, I wouldn't be surprised if the fuel guage was misreading. I must say he was OK about a scuff on the side plastic which I genuinely wasn't aware of and I’d have been willing to pay for (or got the G3 and rubbed it off!), if he wasn't so obnoxious. To add to that and other reviews below, it wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't obvious from the state of the van that they don't undertake repairs to the vehicles once they charge the hirer for any damage. Totally disgraceful behaviour, especially as I had filled the van in good faith. Do him a favour and AVOID, if he thinks customers are trying to get away with things (NB a few other reviews mention a "grumpy" individual who treats you like you're a waste of his time) or fill the thing until the diesel spills over you; just don't wear decent clothes when you do it! Duncan Hire on Bowerhill seem to have newer vans and I've since had Bathwick Van Hire in Chippenham recommended by a courier firm owner acquaintance of mine.

You get what you pay for. Their online "contact us" area is weak at best. No one gets back to you. I had to go in and speak to the grumpy, individual that works there who made me feel like I was a waste of his time. Amongst the mountains of paperwork they have it's no wonder they don't reply online. Everything is on paper. The van itself was in poor condition. Lots of bumps and "dings" everywhere. Presumably someone paid to have them repaired after their hire. They haven't been. I lost my invoice due to moving my kit from one place to another. I then started a new job and was then sent away for said new job for 3 months. I am required to provide my invoice to work. Again I looked for an email address and was only directed to the unmanned "contact us" area. I messaged twice and received nothing back. My wife kindly went in on my behalf and asked said grumpy individual if they could produce a copy of the invoice for me. £10 she was charged!! How on this green earth is that warranted!? It wasn't mentioned but I'm normally in the business of charging £5 per message unresponded to!! I think it's safe to say that I won't be using these again! Bad customer service, shocking booking system and general admin, unfriendly staff, untidy vehicles, and unwarranted charges!
