    I had an awful experience with this company I personally will never take an insurance policy with them. They used every excuse in the book not to pay me. The Ombudsman instructed them to settle my claim in the end, which they did, somewhat reluctantly.

    Do NOT use this company. Appauling service, customer service and con you out of money. I spoke to Stephanie via email who just didnt even read anything i was saying in my emails, just sending a copy and pasted message back that wasnt even relevant - basically a robot. not sure why she is even needed if she just sends copy and pasted messages as you can automate that in a company. Martin - i submitted a claim as soon as i landed back from Dubai during the pandemic. In a rush ive claimed for my handbag and obviously as a mum to a baby, just landed with jet lag and upset that ive lost personal goods ive filled out a form by pen straight away and listed my bag and some cash that was in there, a few days later once my suitcase and babys bag was fully emptied i noticed some make up bits missing which were in the handbag - they have an online portal thats still open at this point for me to submit receipts, and any paper work. ive submitted my make up. 3 weeks go by, no update. i chase by phone to be told 'soon' 'monday' '3 days'. another week goes by. i call and complain to people who talk with no emotion, no umph to their voice, clearly irritated by even having to speak to me. Martin then emails me (not tells me over the phone) that my make up contents cant and wont be included in the payout as it wasnt on the original form. no where on the form did it state that the form cannot be updated, nowhere did it say that items cant be added and that it is final. all it said was make sure the form items are correct when listed. well the ones i did list (twice) were all correct. they have conned me out of money for my make up and when i asked to complain he told me he was the highest member of staff and refused to give me any email or contact number for a good 10mins. he then finally gave me an email address. AVOID. i will be reporting to head office and everywhere else possibel so people know that this company are a scam.

    TIFGROUP, if I see your company name anywhere near my next insurance I won’t be buying. I purchased platinum Boots insurance well before COVID hit. I was flying to Gran Canaria but 12 hours prior to flying FCO advised against it. My top of the range insurance which cost me £30 also stated don’t travel against FCO advise, well I didn’t. Put a claim in and it was refused. Typical, still not clear why but in any case buying expensive insurance does not mean a better service. What was I meant to do, travel and not be covered or cancel my holiday as your T&C’s state don’t go against FCO. I listened to my travel insurance and stayed at home. All TIFGROUP could state is we don’t cover pandemics, try other avenues where they gave a few. Pretty much I paid for advise and nothing more. Could have found that on the internet with a few clicks. Poor, tried to get my £30 back but that was refused as I put a claim in, again if I knew you were going to refuse what I thought was a stone banker claim I would have not bothered.

    My experience with TIF Group has been shocking. Much like many of the other 1 star reviews our complaints were ignored and/or refused. Myself and my husband had a joint policy for 12 months permanent backpacking travel. Forced to return home halfway through due to Coronavirus pandemic, and no refund for a full six months of backpackers travel insurance. Not covered abroad due to reasons associated with pandemic. No refund on insurance policy upon return. Daylight robbery. Be careful, they will try to wriggle out through T&Cs. And do not consider what's right and wrong. TIF Group are more than happy to take nearing £500 of paid service and not return it. Read the T&Cs small print and unfortunately your only hope is a long and drawn out process with the Financial Ombudsman.

    Avoid at all costs. I would give 0 stars if that was an option. Appalling customer service. Multiple errors in communication on multiple occasions. Failure to pass on complaint information internally. And took months of back-and-forth emails and phone calls.

    I would advise avoiding this travel insurance company. They will not pay out legitimate claims and the policy was sold fraudulently. I was told that the FCO advising against all but essential travel was 'not unexpected' therefore they are refusing to pay my claim. Losing baggage or a flight delay are also 'not unexpected' so I expect that they would refuse to pay out if these things happened. They expected me to know exactly what the FCO was going to do a full 2 weeks before they issued the travel advisory yet they apparently did not know because they still were happy to issue the policy.

    Our holiday was cut short due to covid and we had to book emergency flights back to the U.K. at a significant additional cost. The claims process was simple, I received email updates throughout and I got my claims request approved within 12 working days, which is pretty impressive as I’d imagine they were inundated with other covid-related claims; really grateful for the quick turnaround as I expected it to take much longer with lockdown! My partner who submitted his claim at the same time with his insurance provider (different group) is still chasing them up three months on and has had to complain to the financial ombudsman - makes me appreciate the great customer service and resolution times even more! (insurance bought through Alpha Travel)
