Absolutely awful, do not use for personal or insurance claims - they will extort money from you and use threatening tactics. I was told to use Thrifty when I was involved in a non-fault side collision and my car needed repairs. I knew how awful rental companies can be but my requests to use the dealers's courtesy car were refused by the third party insurance (should have been a warning sign!). I was promised an equivalent car and was provided with the same car brand but a completely different model (much smaller and lower specification / power) was delivered. It was also absolutely filthy and had clearly been delivered to me straight from the previous hire. In the current climate, this is absolutely appalling. The branch were completely disinterested in this, which shows the attitude of the staff who work there. The vehicle also had low oil, which again, Thrifty were not interested in, despite me reporting twice to them. They are now claiming that I owe them £43 for a missing locking wheel nut, over 6 weeks after I handed back the vehicle and all deposits have been paid back to me. The issue with the vehicle was not communicated to me by the Thrifty branch or the head office, and I had no awareness of the absence of a locking wheel nut until I was sent a demand for payment from a collection agency. A complaint is being raised with the BVRLA in relation to the conduct of this company.

Absolutely shocking service was given a car from insurance company as I'd been involved in a no fault accident by a 3rd party, had car a week hardly used due to injuries still from accident they came to collect car didn't ask me to do a walk around said everything was OK drove the car off to be called an hour later to say there was damage on the car and was charged an excess fee! I Absolutely know there was no damage done by ourselves and feel abused by this company. Having been in a head on serious collision no fault of my own in a brand new car that has now been wrote off we are car less out of pocket and now this. If I'd have read the reviews on thrifty I would not have accepted a car from them through the 3rd parties car insurance!!
