    Thornley Grove Estate Agency - Unethical Practices and Poor Maintenance Abdullah Hussain Estate Agent I deeply regret having to share my extremely negative experience with Thornley Grove Estate Agency. The unprofessional conduct displayed by this agency is simply unacceptable. First and foremost, I was appalled by their attempt to blackmail me into renewing my tenancy. On multiple occasions, they tried to increase my rent by a staggering £300, without any justifiable reason for such an exorbitant hike. It is evident that Thornley Grove Estate Agency prioritises their own financial gain over fair and reasonable dealings with tenants. Furthermore, the property I rented from them was plagued with numerous issues that were never addressed. From the moment I moved in, I encountered a plethora of problems, ranging from faulty plumbing to electrical issues. Despite promptly reporting these concerns to the agency, they showed a complete lack of responsiveness and failed to resolve any of the issues. It is disheartening to see an agency neglect their responsibilities and disregard the basic rights of their tenants. In addition to the aforementioned problems, I must emphasise my dissatisfaction with the agency's contractual agreements. Dealing with Thornley Grove Estate Agency felt like making a pact with the devil. Their contracts are convoluted, heavily biased in their favour, and designed to exploit tenants. It is evident that they prioritize their own interests above creating a fair and mutually beneficial tenancy agreement. Considering these issues, I strongly advise anyone seeking rental accommodation to steer clear of Thornley Grove Estate Agency. Their unscrupulous practices, disregard for tenant rights, and lack of professionalism make them an extremely unreliable and unsatisfactory agency. There are numerous reputable alternatives available, and I would highly encourage prospective tenants to explore other options rather than subjecting themselves to the incompetence and unethical behaviour of Thornley Grove Estate Agency.     Do not book a viewing with this estate agent. Do not consider using this estate agent for your lettings management. After driving from Liverpool to view a flat in Manchester, the estate agent did not show up, even following 8 separate calls. We then went to the office to ask why no one had the decency to show up, to which Emily Robison, a lettings agent, half apologised for and rearranged a viewing for today at 4pm. I noted down a phone number as I refused to have my time wasted again. We arrived at 3:45pm so as not to "miss the estate agent". Another potential tenant was waiting to view this property and shared his experiences of being ghosted by the lettings agents at other properties. Seems to be a common theme as they AGAIN did not show up despite multiple phone calls. I believe Claire McKenzie was supposed to arrive for this viewing but we did not see a single sight of her for the 30 minutes we stood in the lobby waiting. Such disrespect for people's time and money. I hope I never have the displeasure of dealing with the estate agent again. I hope that landlords think twice before engaging in business with this company as they'll never find you a tenant because they're too busy standing them all up.

    Bad reputation well deserved. Booked a flat viewing with an individual called Claire McKenzie, she sent me multiple emails confirming time then she changed the time and said this was the right one. When I turned up at the place, no one from thornley came to show me the property. Rang them, no one picked up the phone, their voicemail was full, emailed them- no reply. Well if they ghost people, I would not let them handle my rental.

    Last summer when they did not accept walk-ins I thought that this firm does not care about customer service. However, when I walked in a week ago I was presented with great attention and customer service (I work in CS too) from Eve, who gave me all the details that I needed. After that, Ashley, who showed me a flat was very kind and attentive, kept up with me and provided all the info that I asked. Very satisfied with the service!

    Avoid if you can! When we moved into our flat there was only one fob to access the building and three keys for the flat which took around a month to sort the second fob for the second tenant and this is how the rest of our tenancy has followed. Even our property manager didn't have the correct keys for our flat nor had been to it before when we had our inspection! During the tenancy we were left without a washing machine for two months and without a working toilet for three months. Although they were fine dealing with the advance, they were not efficient with the maintenance of the flat which is their main purpose

    Impossible to get a hold of. Following a viewing, I emailed the agent who showed us around to request more info, never to receive a response. Second email, same thing. She never picks up her landline or mobile. Same with the main agency line. No one ever, ever picks up and I must’ve rang them over 5 times now. No one responded to a message I left a few days ago about another flat I was interested in. Just rang again to enquire about the first flat I wanted more info on and surprise, surprise, no one picked up and their inbox is full! What do you do all day? Do you actually work? How unprofessional. This has put me off pursuing the flat I was interested in and honestly renting with them in general. I’m sure they’ll respond that due to the high demand they are behind but this is beyond reasoning.

    Thornley Groves had several properties I was interested in, but the online system was a bit cumbersome so I decided to stop by the office. I was a little apprehensive to go in based off of the way other letting agents had treated me, but I did it anyway. I was greeted by Eve Kelly, she was super friendly and was eager to help. I told her my budget, my “must haves” and my time frame. She quickly came up with a list of properties and together we went through them, with her filling me in on relevant details. I told her my top choices and she showed me pics & videos right then. I knew what property I was interested in so she guided me through the application process and I was approve within a few days! She is true MAGIC! She is helpful, kind, friendly & giving of her time. I’m confident in Thornley groves because I know shes’s there!

Walking into the Thornley Groves office - my wife’s idea - was the best decision we could have made and we were picking up our keys within the week. Eve was warm, friendly, assuring and professional.
